When's the last time there was such a rush to grab a 40 year old goalie?
I'm just jealous I traded him last week....got a nice return of Perrreault, Stafford, Frolov and picks so I can't be too mad.

And that's quite the anecdote Killer, you've got me baffled. Maybe when Hasek had his second go around with the Wings?
I'm not sure what people would be willing to give for a 1/2 year rental who'll probably be splitting time with one of Ellis/Smith.
I'm not breaking the bank for him, that's for sure. I'm sure we'll see some ridiculous posts over the next few weeks. "Should I trade Ov for Roloson??" or "Crosby for Roloson+?". Should be fun to watch!!!

HAHAHA, yeah should be fun for sure. I was quick and snagged him. Now I'm just hoping one of my modest Roloson for Smyth or Elias offers pans out.
- Desjardins will be returned to Norfolk. There is no need to rush him now that Rollie is in the picture. Rollie is an UFA after this season so Desjardin now has a boat load of confidence after his short stint and that should be good for his development (next year and beyond)
- Smitty has been injured way too much in recent years (2010 - knee, 2009 - neck, 2008 - concussion and LBI, 2007 - knee and arm injury, plus many more concussions and other injuries)
- Ellis (3.03 GAA, .886%, 11-6-5) and Smitty (3.20 GAA, .883 SV%, 10-5-0) have been terrible this season but Ellis has been the better goalie, especially recently
- I would expect Smith to leave the organization somehow (waived, traded, etc.) and the lightning to roll with Rolston and Ellis in a 60-40 split. Yzerman brought in Ellis so he should have the upper hand.
Look for the entire Tampa team to play with more confidence now
