World Jrs Hockey Pool

Hey everyone,

Anyone interested in a quick and fun hockey pool based around the World Jrs. I was thinking of just having a thread here and running it since we have knowledgeable (and active) members right here. It would be very straightforward.

The scoring setup would be similar to how I have seen it done at HF Boards.

5 Forwards
3 Defencemen
1 Goaltender

8 Teams Maximum
Goal = 1 point
Assist = 1 point

Wins in Regulation/Overtime/Shootout = 2 points
Shootout Loss: 1 point
Shutouts: An additional 2 points on top of the original win

If you\'re interested please be prepared to do a draft right away so we can get teams set down before the first puck drops. The draft would be run here as well.

Good idea. However, I am far too stupid to sign up for a WJC pool that goes 72 players deep.

Don\'t change your plan on my account. If you have trouble finding enough people, I am in. I can pick names randomly of the internet with the best of them.

Ok not going to happen. We\'ll try this next year and I\'ll send out the word a week or two ahead of time instead of 2 days!

lets start one quickly right now.. since its short notice.. maybe we should just do what doulos earlier suggested: 3 forwards, 2 defense and a goalie

I would be in for sure... I was joking around with one of my guys in my pool.. because both of our teams are prospect teams.... so i have a few guys already playing in this turny

I am prepared to give it a go. Since we don’t really have time to get organized on a draft (it didn\'t seem to happen here) and there are only a few of us (four maybe?) I suggest that we simply all pick players and submit them at roughly the same time tomorrow (so we can’t cheat off each other lists). Players willed be owned by more then one GM.

I proposed we stick with the original: 5 forwards, 3 d-men and 1 goalie. But you cannot have more 3 players from any one nation.

Post your roster on December 26 at 11 am – eastern time. If you are worried about people copying your list don’t do it until the last minute. Late entries will be excepted for 15 minutes or so. (honour system guys - don\'t cheat and look before you put your roster in)

I am open for other suggestions on the rules but since we are running out of time unless we get a better idea posted here before midnight (eastern time) I say we go with it.

im down... i would have preferred to have no mulitple ownership of players... but i guess this is the best we can do, considering puck drop in is 16 hours.. i also like the no more than 3 players from a nation rule..
