Does Nabokov try to return to NHL now? Any team looking for a goalie? One big problem is that he would have to clear waivers if he tried to return to NHL this year so any team signing him would have to take a chance and risk him to waivers before they could get him.

He'd fit right in. Nabokov's stats from KHL this year: 3.02 GAA and 0.888 SV%. And that's while playing with the 8th best team in the league.

The Lightning sit with about 9 Mil in cap space too. This is perfect. I'd love to see a good goaltender on Tampa.

you never know, they arent a lot of teams with the cap space to take on a Nabokov type contract and there are also a lot of teams that are already set in net. He was available in the summer and there was little to no interest out side of SJ as far as I remember.
I scooped him up just to see if he signs with anyone in the next month. When they say family reasons I'm betting it's because the fam wants to go back to North America (I read somewhere his wife is American). No doubt he'd be an attractive option as the trade deadline nears as teams will be on the hunt for a goaltending boost for the playoffs.
He just better return soon because a big chunk my team isn't in the league haha
