Kovy trade

Hey, first time poster, long time reader.
1- year league, 12 teams
G,A,PTS,+/-, PIM, PPP, GA, SVP, W, SO

I got offered a trade for my Kovy and Keith (package deal). I was wondering if anyone thinks Kovy will turn it around and maybe all he needs is a string of 2 or 3 productive nights in a row to get going again?

His: Phaneuf, Vanek, Doan

I've also never been a big fan of Vanek, and I don't know a ton about him, because I am normally not bothered to follow him. So I was wondering how you guys think he will do this year, and if Kovy doesn't turn things around, would he get as many, or more points than Kovy this season?

How can I say this nicely...He!! NO! Keith is miles better right now than Phaneuf [who isn't even playing]...this downgrades your D significantly.

The potential for Kovalchuk is still worth hanging onto unless something actually tempting comes your way. Vanek and Doan are 60-65 point guys with a few peripherals. Frankly, your bench players are close to this already [Umberger, Bourque for example].

I wouldn't do this trade even if Keith wasn't included from your side. With this in mind I'd feel a little insulted. Don't burn any bridges, but I wouldn't hesitate to REFUSE this...politely of course.

I agree with AK, I dont see the upgrade from Kovi with Doan and Vanek. I know that NJ has been sooooo terrible this season but there is no doubt that NJ can NOT get any worse.

Please don't do that deal. That is a serious downgrade not a shake up.

This shakeup is on par with what Sutter has been doing to the FLAMES recently. Make sure you're sober before pulling the trigger.
