    Default Keep Thomas or Rask

Last year, I struggled b/c I had Thomas all year long.
So during the off season, I traded Zetterberg for Lundqvist
Early this season, I watched Thomas go 8-0..hmm..so I activated Thomas.
Benched Lundy...then later packaged him to get Rask.

So now I have the Thomas/Rask duo in my keeper league. My question is..who do i keep as a keeper prior to next years draft. I risk losing one, but Thomas' age is in my favour..i doubt the other GMs wanna take a flyer on an older goaltender who is having a vezina type season again?!

Note: At next yr's draft, we have 2 rounds of each GM drafting a player from the unprotected players on our respective teams. The catch is..only a max of 2 players on each GM's teams can be stolen.

Way too early in the season to think about this. Too much can change. Many people speculate Thomas will be traded. I don't believe this.

I think Thomas hangs on to the #1 job for the season. Next year Rask will probably see more of the starts. Either way man, I think you are losing one of these guys. But I would wait til the end of the season to determine which one to protect
    Without me, it's only "aweso".

4T2 is right in that you have lots of time to evaluate what to do since the decision doesn't need to be made until after the season. If you had to make a choice now I would keep Rask and have him for 10-15 years. With Thomas I see maybe 5 years tops. A lot will depend on when you will make a run for your championship. You do have to watch that you don't look to far out.

There was good advice here that I always used in don't look to far past the next 2-3 years. But using that time frame Thomas' contract will be expiring and the Bruins will most likely run with Rask. I see the Bruins trading Thomas either late next year or more likely in the final year after that as the contract is expiring.

So for me I would choose Rask but wait and evaluate at the end of the season. Also, if you are looking at not protecting him you may want to see if a contender want Thomas and get a nice return (e.g. get a better keeper than the likes of Zherdev and Stoll) for him instead of losing him for nothing.

In a keeper I think you have to hang onto Rask... it's hard to say though.

I'm going to have the same dilemma next off-season and it's no contest for me...keep RASK! If I have to I'll punt a couple of years of my pool to put myself in a position to content for a decade.

Short term (this year + maybe 2 more) I would keep Thomas. Long term, Rask is your guy. He'll just get better as time goes on. But as everyone else said, you do have some time to think about this. See how the season pans out...

Rask, for sure. Thomas is 36, 36 freaking years old! How many goalies play great hockey after they turn 37? The answer is almost none. I love TT, but he's not gonna pull a Hasek, he will slow down later this season and the Bruins will end up moving him before next season and his value will drop substantially on another club. Rask is too good to ride the bench for long. I've tried to buy low on him but nobody would sell...

I have a question I have both Thomas and Rask. I would def. holdover Rask. But one of the managers has Howard and Price. I think he will holdover Howard. Is Price better then Rask long term in your opinion?
    Thanks
