The whole goalie situation, with Yzerman picking up goalies left and right - it might have made sense a couple of years ago when Cossa still was far off, but now with Mrazek being added, with some terms left, while Cossa seemingly is doing well in the AHL... I don't see a reason why the Detroit organization would've "soured" on Cossa, if not for personality traits that don't fit with the organization. Otoh, there seems to be a trend in the NHL at them moment where organizations develop first round goalies, only to trade them when they are ready make an impact.

Any indication, besides having an unexplainable goalie carousel, that Detroit would do the seemingly unthinkable and trade Cossa, and perhaps instead roll the dice with Augustine?

I can't see that. He will be up next year and Talbot or Mrazek moved

Agree with this. No idea why they took Mrazek's terrible contract on, as a duo of Talbot and Cossa would be pretty decent and there will in all likelihood be FA goalies available who are better and cheaper than Mrazek if they wanted someone as insurance.

Yes, it doesn't make much sense, which is why I wondered if there's been any indication or other rumors about it. Maybe it's just that - rumors. ..and some odd moves.

Another night in the Stadium Series jerseys. 0-2 so far.
