My post was more of a joke of another Holland mis-step from the 2021 summer. Oh well.
Here's a rumor for you. The Oilers are going to trade for Varlamov.

The Oilers are going to have to make a really tough decision. I am talking a core player traded to right this ship. They remind me of the mid 2000's Vancouver Canucks before we got luongo. Once we got luongo everything changed. They need a top end goalie, and not just a good 1A/1B guy. I am talking a rock like a Markstrom. This is going to require them to trade or get rid of some serious cap and some good players.

I think Nurse is who I would be looking at. Even though they will never do it. He's clearly overpaid, and with his cap off the books they could bring in a franchise goalie and top 4 stay at home D. I am going to get roasted for this take but so are the Oilers if they continue doing nothing.

Who cares. Send this entire franchise to Quebec or some shithole American city and end the bleeding.

Haha. They don't say. They seem delusional on the issue signing a 39 year old on a two year deal to anchor the tending position. While having a ECHL goalie as the back up.

Rank these tasks in order of team save percentage this season:

    the 4th place Washington Capitals
the 6th place Tampa Bay Lightning
    the 16th place Edmonton Oilers

Now, tell me that goaltending is the team's biggest problem. Also who's fault is the goaltending? Now, remember that their young goalie has a save percentage of .916 which is somewhat better that Koskinen's .900 and Smith's .897.

In other news, apparently Bob Stauffer, Oilers radio employee, was talking poorly about Dave Tippett today which likely means Tippett is getting replaced.

Well considering you've been beating the "fire Tippett" drum for some time now, if he does get fired, that'll make you happy.

Seems hard to believe but the Canucks are only three points behind Edmonton.

Considering the runs both teams have been on recently, is it really that hard to believe?

It certainly is considering the relative positions of the two teams 10 games ago. Edmonton was flying high and the Canucks were terrible.

Points can be very misleading when looking at the standings. The Canucks are currently on pace for 84 points this season while the Oilers are still on pace for 94 points.

For example, the Canucks are currently 3 points ahead of the Dallas Stars. The Stars have 5 games in hand.

When there is up to an 8 game spread in games played for teams, use point percentage to compare teams and don't worry about actual points.

Clearly, a lot can happen in 10 games.

Koskinen not happy being throw under the bus by Tippett. Said he can't score goals...

Oilers have scored a total of 7 goals in his last 6 loses... He's allowed 24 in the same time span.

He's been pretty crap, but he's also not wrong. Everything is wrong on the team right now. This franchise is going to piss away the top two players in the league.

"The Oilers announced that captain Connor McDavid, forward Derek Ryan and defenceman Tyson Barrie have entered the NHL's COVID-19 protocol hours before Edmonton was scheduled to face the Maple Leafs in Toronto."

    Also RNH still out.

Ouch, Oiler's will be doubleshifting centermen tonight! Look for Leon to play 30+ min
