With Kahun not on the ice for practice today, the RNH-Draisaitl-Yamamoto was reunited and it feels so good. James Neal up on McDavid's left side with Puljujarvi on the right.

I think EDM need a seminar on how to play defense...

They got beat up so bad that Charles Manson vomited

Well maybe scoring more than 1 goal in 3 games would help too.

I have seen so much from this team over the past 15 years that nothing phases me any more.

    What happens happens.

Sad display of hanging your goalie out to dry the past three games.

But with this NHL level goaltending they have they should have been able to pull out a point or two. Really surprising.

Im telling you, Mike Smith wasn't the reason they lost that game last night. Poorly played game in front of him.

Not a peep from you when Mike Smith is absolutely on a tear, but suddenly you show up again when he has a bad game.

I'm not much of a Mike Smith fan either, but when your team scores ONE GOAL in three games, goaltending is hardly the issue.

EDIT: Or maybe you were making a point about the quality of goaltending on the Leafs, of which I guess I would kind of agree. Either way just not good enough. Lots of issues.

Can't hang the three losses on goaltending BUT you like to have a goalie who can steal you one or two while the offense is quiet. Reality is the goaltending is way more likely blow one when the offense is booming than steal one when it's quiet. Would love to see an upgrade here.

All told, you don't panic over a 3-game losing streak, just like you don't set too high of expectations when the team is on a roll and you're getting 33% shooting from Jujhar Khaira. Still the same flaws they had two weeks ago before the highs and lows.

The key is going to be continuing to take better than their share of the points from the CGY, VAN, WPG games and they should get to the dance.

He could be, but I'm not banking on anything with him. Hasn't played in forever and was injured. Could take some time to get up to speed.

Even with all that he's an upgrade.

I hope you're right. Not holding my breath. Even with his recent games Mike Smith is still sitting at a .923 sv % so far. He was a .902 last season, so he could have several more poor games and still only regress back to that point.

Stalock has never had to handle much of a workload and has shown that he can struggle at times as well. He's got a long way to go to show he's anything more than a backup. Koskinen has had stretches of play like Stalock as well. Mike Smith is an aging goalie that can get the job done at times, and drive you crazy with his inconsistency at times as well. I don't see any of these three guys as any kind of answer for the team. It's an area that needs a significant upgrade.

That being said, goaltending has largely not been the issue this season, and anyone who watches these games can tell you that.
