Thoughts on Anthony Beauvillier as a player? I'm not too familiar with his game and on how that might fit in for the Habs.

I thought he's done well in a system like NYI. Guys pretty talented, but I haven't watched a ton of games of his to know is he just being limited by Trotz system, or is it just him fitting the system so well.

I think his floor is what would fit in MTL, but the fear would be paying too many non-top line guys in Anderson, Toffoli, Drouin and Gallagher then having to pay Beauvillier. But that depends what he wants. If you can get him on a bridge, and somehow make the next Suzuki, Kotkaniemi, Lehkonen, Romanov and Caufield (2yrs) work out it could be a good changing of the guards type of move.

I think MTL should worry more about the RFAs fitting in with the other deals than going out and getting another RFA unless the price is pretty low in acquiring him.

I'm sure the thought is he doesn't need the house right now because he won't be in it this summer. And if he re-signs in MTL he'll be buying a larger house. If he's signing elsewhere, might as well list it now because it takes a bit for mansions to sell (no listing price is available).

However he has turned down a $5mill AAV offer from Bergevin and is looking for 6yrs-5.5/6mill/yr deal. And he's highly likely to hit the open market. Where I'm sure someone will overpay. If he's turned down a 5millAAV contract from Bergevin, I'd assume the term wasn't there.

I'd guess he'd leave for elsewhere. Go somewhere close to the offer Bergevin sent, but bit longer and with lower taxes.
