Hoping for the best for Drouin. This isnt something the NHL will let slide easily so I imagine it is a serious issue and I hope he comes out of it just fine. Since they asked for privacy explicitly in this announcement, I imagine it's highly likely to be mental health and/or a serious health issue in the family which has caused him great turmoil.

Again, not to sound insensitive, but I'm surprised this qualifies for LTIR.

This team will miss the playoffs. I just feel it. They’re playing like it.

I agree. I think it might need to happen. It sucks but it’s true.

The only thing saving their ass is the fact that Calgary and Vancouver cant buy a win either. If Ottawa had gotten any type of goaltending early on in the season, they could very well be challenging Montreal for the last playoff spot. They are probably the best team not in the North Division playoffs right now.

MTL has a 91.9% probability to make the playoffs. Vancouver has 4.5% and Calgary has3.6%.

They're really just failing to the point where they are locking up 4th. Which the way it looks right now is against Toronto.

I must have posted the probabilities before they were updated, here's the updated percentages

    WPG - 100% (57pts)
    MTL - 89.4% (51pts)
    CGY - 7.1% (45pts)
    VAN - 3.5% (41pts)

Montreal has 8games left, Calgary has 8, Van have 13, Jets have 7.

If Jets go 3-4-0 they finish at 63pts. Montreal would need to go 6-2-0 (12pts) to tie. MTL and Jets play Friday, that's a big game. To keep things interesting, if Vancouver goes 8-2-3 (19pts) to finish the yr, they also will be at 60pts (vs Toronto, Edmonton, Winnipeg and Calgary yikes)

Montreal still needs to get 6 points to catch Winnipeg even if peg looses all the games...way they are going that may not happen....

i think after few weak games from peg all 4 slots are now assigned

    Toronto
    Edmonton
    Winipeg
    Montreal

i be very very surprised if standings are not in this order.

I can almost guarantee a Habs win.. The Jets can't score and can't defend.. Not sure how Montreal gas looked of late, but they have to be feeling better then the Jets.. Ehlers and Lowry out hurts!!

Montreal has their own scoring woes so not sure that's a thing that can push them for a win.

MTL can't defend when it comes to turnovers, and they can't create unless the other team messes up. The offense is missing a lot of weapons in Gallagher, Tatar, Drouin, and Byron

So even match since Jets are messing up a lot, and Jets aren't creating much in terms of offense. Really depends in Helly can make that save that covers up the mess ups.
