    I think he's a safe 55-65 point guy.

What you saw this season was probably his outlier performance year.

The line of Tatar - Danault - Gallagher was dominant though, and has been really good for a couple years.

They are so good because they all work really hard, they don't have an off switch.

    Drouin - Suzuki - Armia

    Hudon - Evans - Weise
    Dauphin - Domi - Belzile

    Chiarot - Weber
    Olofsson - Petry
    Juulsen/Brook - Folin

    Price
    Lindgren
    McNiven

I wonder if they are just starting with him on the last line until he gets his legs under him a bit more. That would make the most sense. If either side had no intentions of him playing then he would have just not came to camp.

Don't know if its a seperation thing or what but a the workout group of Phil Danault, Ryan Poehling, Victor Mete, Cale Fleury and Cayden Primeau were not in the Sat scrimmage either.

I would not read into too much until they are closer to the exhibition games.

Maintenance days or lighter practices depending on each player fitness levels.

No point in rushing or pushing too hard and causing and injury.

Montreal Canadiens prospect Alexander Romanov is heading directly to Toronto to serve his mandatory quarantine before joining the team in the hub city.
The Habs signed Romanov to his entry-level contract earlier this month although he is not eligible to play in the team's qualifying round against the Pittsburgh Penguins or in the playoffs, should the Canadiens advance.
I wonder if this is a strategic thing for Montreal... to get him accustomed to the NHL routines. He will count as one of the players in the bubble even though he is ineligible to play.

Multiple teams are bringing in guys that are ineligible to play. They had to sign now or risk losing them to the KHL for next year. Meanwhile the KHL guys get to burn a year off their ELC by being around.

There's nothing about this that applies only to Romanov.

Are any of the others travelling to the hub cities and taking up a player spot? He was referring to that not the contract signing/ELC year burn.

edit: Looks like Sorokin is doing the same and is flying to Toronto with Romanov

The #Isles are not announcing anything, but seems likely Sorokin will do the same. If he quarantines on LI for a week, team will already be in Toronto when he's cleared.

There are lots of players at training camps that are ineligible to play. Do you think that lots of them will be taking up a bubble slot when these teams move to the bubble?

The part that I thought only applies to Romanov is that he is heading directly to Toronto and that he is going to be part of the bubble.

I guess I just thought that teams wouldn't take ineligible players to the hub cities and keep that spot for another depth player that might actually play.

    Thanks. And that is interesting.

I thought I had heard somewhere that teams were gonna struggle to keep within their roster/staff limitations.

Carey Price is a notorious slow starter. If he does that again this team is toast out of the gate.
Shea Weber is a fast starter who looks like a Norris candidate the first couple months of the season before wearing down due to age and overuse. I can see him being very effective vs Pittsburgh.

Price’s record to open the NHL season (5 games/20 games) over the last 7 years...

    2013: 3-2/10-2-8
    2014: 4-1/14-1-5
    2015: 5-0/10-0-2 (injured)
    2016: 1-1-4/16-1-3
    2017: 1-1-4/9-2-9
    2018: 2-2-1/8-4-8
    2019: 2-1-2/10-3-7

    International:
    2007 WJC: 6-0
    2014 Olympics: 5-0
    2016 World Cup: 5-0

I don’t really see the “notorious” slow starts?

    2019-20: 1/5 QS
    2018-19: 4/12 QS
    2017-18: 3/11 QS

Consistent bad numbers out of the gate. That won't fly vs Penguins.
