Lots of chatter and controversy around Kotkaniemi since he was sent down to the AHL.
White noise aside, what is your take on his development? Is his upside really a first-line centre or should we reduce expectations, based on what we've seen?
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

He’s still 19 years old. Making statements about where his development ends up is a little absurd at this point.

The only thing that might have changed this year is long-term opportunity. Suzuki is going to be a key focus on offense and he's a center.

What’s the controversy? He’s extremely young still and it’s impressive he did as well as he did last season, sophomore slumps happen. Sounds like he has a really good attitude about going to Laval to work on his game and get the minutes. He seems like a good student with a very solid long term future. Even if he is a 2nd line C I can see him having value like Horvat, he’s going to be a great asset in fantasy and in real life too.

I dont see Kotkaniemi as a top line center. He might be a low end 2C down the road but I dont see him as 1C.

If they’d give Hudon the top line minutes they gave Kovalchuk he’d probably be better than Kovalchuk was. Julien is so stuck on his veterans.

Tatar is out indefinitely. That's probably it for him this year.

Just as a heads up, but it looks like Caufield will play another year at Wisconsin:

He could easily transition to the AHL but another year in college won't hurt. He slowed down after a crazy start. Now he can try to play at that level all year. Plus it keeps him away from the Montreal media circus. At least we can wait a year before they all debate about whether he's a center or a wing.
