Price just stole a point. They had no business getting to overtime.

Team looked like they hit a wall a couple minutes into the first.

They've been extremely sloppy in the defensive zone the past little while.

The officiating was also horrendous. That never helps.

Poehling was sent to the AHL after tonight's game.

So Kotkaniemi must be ready to go. Better for Poehling to get big mins in the AHL vs 7-8 mins a night in the NHL. Don’t look now but the Habs are nipping at the stupid Bruins’ heels...

It might mean Kotkaniemi is ready, it might not. Weal can easily come in and play those minutes.

#Habs practice lines in opening O-zone drill:

    Drouin - Danault - Gallagher
    Byron - Domi - Armia
Tatar - Suzuki - Lehkonen (Kotkaniemi was rotating with all 3 players on 3rd line)
    Cousins - Thompson - Weal

Drouin took a high hit from Ovechkin and he's out for the time being. Tatar was promoted back to his spot on the top line and they scored on their first shift together. If they have to call up a winger I can see Hudon being given the nod this time.

Clean hit and really incidental - Ovechkin was not lining him up - he just ran into Drouin. My first inclination was “why didn’t someone knock the f#%$ out of him”? But really - winning 5-2 was exactly the way to handle it. Go out there and use your speed and skill and be the better team. That’s the new NHL and I love it.

If Gallagher or Drouin actually go after Ovechkin more than they did it would end really badly and there would have been long-term consequences, just like the time Byron agreed to fight after returning from his suspension. They did more than enough to get whatever message across. Fighting for teammates as the default answer is a very cult-ish way of handling things.

Now Drouin is out but apparently nothing to do with the hit from yesterday. Who knows...
