    Funny story that made it across my twitter feed a few moments ago... lol

    @Dave_Stubbs

    Best story about #Habs numbers: Roman Hamrlik asked for No. 4, his Calgary number, when he signed in 2007. Equipment mgr Pierre Gervais: "I'll give you Mr. Béliveau's phone number. If he agrees, I'll give you a long ladder and you can take down his banner." Hamrlik opted for 44.

    Habs sign Nick Cousins, the team's 43rd bottom-six forward.

    I understand the need for depth but this is a little intense.

    No big shock but Armia, Lehkonen, and Hudon file for arbitration.

    I don't see a big dip down unless he misses a lot of time with injury. If there's no more movement on the Habs blueline, his ice-time will continue to be big and his style of play fits Julien's style perfectly. With a young up-and-coming offense, he should remain in the 40-point vicinity.

    Upside will depend on the PP. He had 11 PPPs compared to Weber's 6 last year (albeit, in 24 more games) but the powerplay was so terrible that everything is possible now. At worst, he'll get PP2 time so his floor remains strong but I don't see him topping 50 points unless Weber gets injured or they share time on the top unit (unlikely).

    Take out his 15 points in 20 games in the first quarter when Weber was still out, and you get a point pace in the low 40s. I think that sounds about right, with similar peripheral production to last year too.

    That's dead on what my market value model had him being worth - AAV of $2.6M. Except the model had him at three years and he got two.
