Well the playoff push was fun while it lasted. In the end it’s been a lack of skill and give a shit up front that has turned this season back into the pumpkin we expected. But I’m still very glad Beregevin stayed the course. Drouin needs to go. He’s just Scott Gomez all over again. Particularly the passes to no one. He back checks like Alexi Kovalev but most unfortunately is not an elite goal scorer like Kovalev. At least he’s on an affordable deal and he should be traded. Julien hasn’t tried making him a healthy scratch yet and I don’t understand why. And the power play’s complete ineptitude is down to that lack of skill. 2 for the last 40 on the PP. My god. If they’d just managed another 5 or 6 on the PP where would we be? Ah well. Probably two years from now we’ll be starting to look pretty good. Except that Shea Weber contract. Woof.

Don't worry about Weber. That contract will actually look enticing to teams looking to meet the cap floor in two-three years.

Not ready to put him the Gomez category, because he has the tools to dominate a game.
It's the lazy and low-percentage plays that plague him... and an apparent lack of will.
If Drouin had half of Gallagher's work ethic, he'd be a PPG player.

Let's hope Julien can somehow inject of bit of consistency in his game... but after 5 seasons in the NHL, what you see is probably what you get.
He's definitely frustrating to watch and to own in fantasy.
    Points-only keeper league. 12 teams. Keep any 12 players. Dress 12F - 6D - 2G.

Yeah I get that but at the end of the day, with or without the tools, if he doesn’t use them the net result is the same...an ineffectual offensive player who hurts the team more than he helps. Just like Gomez. Whatching Gomez used to frustrate the hell out of me and I feel the same way about Drouin. Probably even more frustrating given that he does seem to have more talent...

He's 23, let's let him develop a bit before we ship him off lol

IMO he's improved each season that he has been with the Canadiens.

Yes he still is defensive liability at times, and the effort isn't always there, but there are nights when he is dominant and he is the only player on the team who can be a game breaker like that.

He's the media's scapegoat for the team falling out of a playoff spot.

Last game (the 2nd of back to backs with a long travel day) Drouin and Kotkaniemi were both under 10 mins. That seems like a bad idea. Need to spread the ice time out in a game where everyone is going to be feeling it. They really faded. And Benn inexplicably lifted his skate to deflect the late tying goal in. Thanks Jordie.
