People seem to have completely lost sight of the fact that Max Domi (not Tie Domi) has been in the league a few years and has not established himself as any sort of loose cannon. He?s been a skill guy all along. As a player you don?t get to the point of doing something out of character like this for no reason. If you don?t get the sport or play the sport then bleating about how big of a mean jerk Domi is doesn?t really jive. It was a dumb move but the idea that Domi suddenly decided he?s a goon who punches other players for no reason is silly.

Didn't he break his hand fighting in a pre-season game the year before last?

I don't believe Domi has the goon reputation in any way and I'm not getting any sense of that when reading thoughts from credible people. You only see what you see because you choose to take part in the internet trench warfare. It's silly to let yourself be brought down to that level.

One of the few legit 'D' prospects in their system. It's like Mete, Juulsen and Brook. Not much else there. Will have a great opportunity because the Habs defense is really old. Flying under the radar in fantasy leagues based on what I've noticed.

They stocked up on C at the draft this year but it looks like they forgot about all of the dmen available. I guess that will get addressed in upcoming drafts but with a longer development time it will take a while before the Habs address the D properly.

Not saying it's an A+ group, but Mete, Juulsen and Brook is nothing to scoff at. Based on their play last year, I'd say there is a pretty high probability both Mete and Juulsen establish themselves as legit top-4 options in the NHL. Brook is looking very good as mentioned.

Cross your fingers that someone like Romanov or Fleury pans out and voila!

None of those guys have top pair upside, that's the big issue. Top pair guys are impossible to find.

They're also hoping all their guys pan out perfectly, and that never happens. That's why you need more prospects to improve your odds.

Defensemen are so important in today's game, they should have focused more on them.

I agree that it should be the next area of focus now that they've restocked the C prospect pool. But aside from this year's draft, they've drafted a lot of Ds in the recent past.

If they hadn't traded Sergachev, we'd probably be saying the D prospect pool is looking promising.

If they still had Subban and Sergachev, they would have two potential top-pair defensemen. Now they have none after Weber is done (and who knows how quickly that happens).

I'm not sure if there are any potential top-pair guys in the 2019 draft class. We'll know more in a few months, of course. But this draft class doesn't look great if you're looking for D-men.

Domi's not a goon, he's a bit of a hot head that you can pull off his game and get him to take stupid penalties though. Case in point - Ekblad. he needs to wrangle this in before Clarkson calls him

A bit disappointed about Suzuki - I would have preferred to use up some of his nine games and see what happens, especially with injuries already hitting the team.
