In searching Twitter for more info I came across a reference to a comment Darryl Sutter once made about not overpaying 10-goal scorers because you can get them for the league minimum every August. Definitely applies here in giving Armia just one year. He has a lot to prove.

No other info on why it's one year.

Just spit ballin' cause it's the offseason.

Would a Patches for Trouba and one of Petan or Roslovic make any sense?

Great return for MTL. I don't think WPG would agree with you though. I am not sure they'd get Trouba straight up for Pacioretty, let alone adding in a high end prospect like Roslovic.

It would really depend on how things are between Trouba and the Jets. It's not the first time they've had tough offseason negotiations.

I feel like the Jets are loaded on the wing and don't really need Patches...

you guys think that Weber's injuries are just bad luck and when he returns in December he'll be back for good? I think he still has a couple good years left but hopefully he'll be back to someone useful

Everyone has injuries throughout their careers so I don't think Weber's injuries mean he'll suddenly fall off a cliff. Remember when Andrei Markov missed most of two years and looked to be completely done?

Minor trade: Habs receive Hunter Shinkaruk from Calgary for Kerby Rychel. Not a significant trade since neither one will get a chance in Montreal. They have too many wingers already, with at least one subbing in as a center.

I think that the Laval Rocket will actually have a solid team this year. Seems like most of Bergevin’s moves this offseason helped their AHL team more than their own.

I prefer Rychel but I think this trade will end up being a wash for both teams.

They've been all over it for weeks beginning with speculation about whether or not team management would attend Pacioretty's golf tournament. Seriously.
