Morrow is still alarmingly inconsistent in his own end. Petry has indeed been mostly good. But I don?t think injured players are coming back. Shaw is 4-6 weeks. Dannault has just started skating on his own. Weber still isn?t skating. And Drouin left

Gotcha. Scherbak looked good. He just needs a little more time to adjust to the speed (not his skating, his thinking)of the NHL and his line mates after his time in the AHL. He made a couple of moves to the net that probably worked more frequently in the AHL but got nowhere. With Drouin getting hurt he’ll probably stay up. To my eyes he certainly earned a longer look with the big club.

Lots of chatter about Plekanec's future. I don't think he gets much in a trade even with salary retention. I wouldn't be opposed to re-signing him to a one-year deal for less than 2 million if he would be willing to go that route. None of this multi-year overpaying bullshit...

Because he's too expensive this year to be a rental? Or because he wouldn't be able to keep up on a team making a long playoff run? I think probably a bit of both but he might make a good 3rd line centre on a deeper team.

If I was a team looking at making a lengthy playoff run, I would definitely consider adding this guy.
