I find it amazing this guy scored 37 and 36 goals in two seasons... He did have 19 the year before..

when fans get excited about signing a 37 year old C, who's coming off a 7 goal (surprised when I checked heh) - 50 pt season and would become the #1C option on the team. It doesn't bode well for the upcoming season.

I wouldn't mind Montreal trying for Boyle as a third line/fourth line tweener. If he can be had fairly cheaply and for either one or two years.

Boyle can also play the front of the net on the PP which would be an asset. Win the draw then go to the traffic area.

I would save my pennies and go after some more offensively inclined players. We have a whole team of defensive guys.. we need some crackin' offense already.

If there's first-line offensive players available for cheap, by all means, go after them. But in the meanwhile, Boyle wins faceoffs, plays tough, can score more than the rest of our fourth liners.

referring to Marleau I assume. One large difference, he'd be adding to a position of existing strength - wing - Nylander, JVR, Marner, Brown. and if it's Thornton, kadri, Matthews, bozak at C. they'd be coming more as experience pieces.
Big difference n depth pieces being brought in to compliment whats there vs. primary pieces to fill existing holes
