Incorrect. This only makes sense if Bergevin believes one for the following:
    1) Lucic is a bottom-9 winger
    2) Lucic is an AHL player with potential to be an emergency call-up

The problem is that the Habs have spent the last four years "rebuilding." There's no way we should have to do it again in two or three years.

Writer of the weekly Top 10 column.

12-team Keeper pool, straight points for forwards & dmen. Goalies get: 2 points per win, 3 per shutout, 1 point per assist & 1 point per shootout loss.

    League champ in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2020 and 2022.

Top 8 forwards, 5 dmen and 2 goalies count.

We keep 15 players (any position) plus two rookies.

Forwards: Panarin, Ovechkin, Kopitar, Stamkos, Tuch, Rust, Marchessault, Pavelski, Miller, Bertuzzi, Stone, Kakko, Brown, Stankoven, Kovalenko
Defence: Hedman, Fox, Matheson, Thrun, Jiricek
Goalies: Kochetkov, Talbot, Vasilevskiy, Campbell, Schmid

I'd call this "counting your chickens". Two seasons is a pretty narrow timeframe to be betting the farm on. Pittsburgh, Washington and Tampa Bay aren't going to just roll over and die.

I also wouldn't be counting on unloading that contract on some cap-light unfortunate, at least not for a significant portion of it. Someone might do that for a year or so like Arizona did, but Weber's contract is a hell of a lot longer than that.

    Lots of rationalizing here.

So when Lucic threatened Weise in the handshake line, was that just some sort of Fight Club thing going on.

    Patches-Pleks-Gallagher
    Andrighetto-Chuky-Radulov
    Carr-DD-Shaw
    Mitchell-Byron-Flynn

    Perry-Weber
    Markov-Beaulieu
    Emelin-Pateryn

2nd line needs a better LW

    Pac-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
    Shaw-Plek-Radulov
    Carr-DD-Andrighetto
    Flynn-Mitchell-Byron

    Markov-Weber
    Beaulieu-Petry
    Emelin-Pateryn

McCarron almost certainly starts the year in the minors but at some point he'll be up to stay.

    What about the pp?

You know, a lot of people do not like what the Habs have done. I do, they needed the truculence of Webber and shaw. I think they will be a better team. And if Radulov gels watch out! The team that took a big step back is my blues.

Eric, how down are you on your team? This didn't ring well to me. I think overall skill may be less but I think Webber and shaw really help galleger(sp) to get everyone fired up as a team.
