Good win yesterday. A little frustrated to see all the teams the Habs are fighting for the playoffs all go to OT with PIT and CBJ winning and CAR losing. Those three point games are killers in the playoff race. PIT-CBJ play each other twice this week so the Habs may have a chance to create a little separation if they manage to sweep the back-to-back with SJ and ANH though that'll be tough, especially against the Sharks.

Lehkonen down on the 4th line seems to have helped that group. I could be wrong but I don't recall them getting burned as often.

This is exactly how we should be viewing the canadiens right now because it is 100% accurate. We shouldn’t be hoping or biting our nails to see them make it because if they do or don’t it doesn’t matter. The fact that they aren’t dead last is all bonus and we need to keep a long term view to one day become a contender again. Until then, playoffs are a bonus.

I totally agree but that won't keep me from biting my nails and hope the Habs make it. I won't be sad if they don't make it but I still want them to make it.

Looking at their remaining schedule, I believe they can get there. Still, one deserving team (CAR, PIT, CBJ or MTL) will miss the playoffs with around 95-96 points while two-three teams will make them in the West with less. Sucks, but that's life!

I don't believe there is any major movement out there pushing for the team to dump future assets for a run this year. It was manufactured by the media like so many other things these days. After all, it would have been better for them if the Habs made a splash at the deadline.

Looks like Kotkaniemi will sit again. Weal looked good last game.

Niemi may never start again for the Habs unless the Habs clinch early or are mathematically eliminated at some point.

Lindgren's been bad in AHL the last two years, and McNiven's .909 is decent for AHL. Yikes...

Felt bad for Niemi because he's clearly working hard out there to battle and make saves, but his technique sucks and he's not the most agile to begin with.

Meh. Good to get him some NHL games but I don’t know that he’ll be any better than Niemi. Can’t be worse I guess.

Tatar back in the lineup - Reilly out, Kulak in. Price starts (this is my surprised face).
