Byron has a phone hearing with the NHL today for his high hit yesterday.

Byron gets three games. So we'll be seeing Hudon and/or Peca in the lineup...

I guess that’s about right. It was a high hit for sure. He’ll be missed for those games.

The team should be fine considering they're sitting players that are NHL caliber. I don't mind giving Peca/Hudon a chance in the top 9 with something to prove. Of course it's a net negative but I don't hate it from the perspective of managing a team over a season...

Looks like Columbus, Philly, and Arizona are the next three games. There could have been a worse stretch to miss...

Michal Moravcik, one of the UDFA dmen brought in this summer, is on waivers for contract termination. It didn't work out and the team made two deals for depth dmen (Kulak and Olofsson) effectively killing his opportunity.

There's some speculation over the seriousness of Juulsen's previous fractured face. Hasn't played since Dec 27 after returning from the initial injury. Might be an eye injury, a concussion, who knows? Team isn't saying much.

Good to have Shaw back at practice. He was having a nice year before the injury. Hopefully he gets back into shape with a few games on the fourth line and then he probably moves up the lineup once a shakeup is necessary.

What about that new look powerplay this weekend? Thought the Habs looked pretty decent out there. Kotkaniemi at the right wall makes a big difference as it gives the Habs a much-needed second option if the Weber play isn't there. And he looks like he's not too shy about shooting it right now. There was a great piece at theAthletic about the rookie and his importance to the Habs season going forward.

Would like to see Gallagher over Armia as the net-front presence but I understand how good Armia is at puck retrieval so I'm not totally against it.

PP1 was noticeably better than PP2.

I know this team isn't oozing with skill, but it was drastically different.

No sense of urgency for PP2, while PP1 was making quick passes to get the opponents chasing and open up lanes.

Wouldn't mind seeing them run Weber and Drouin the full 2 minutes and then just swap out forwards.

Look for Shaw to come in for Byron next game. Nothing is official but everything is pointing that way.
