    The Great One

    Default Re: Montreal Canadiens

What I see on the PP is they change their style. They are a great 5 on 5 team because, as Eric says, all 4 lines skate and attack with speed. The PP comes around and they are skating slow and using that back pass to the guy coming on a delay to try and gain the zone with some space and then set it up. Their zone entries should not change for the PP. Continue to play to your strength and attack with speed and score off the rush as much as possible. Either way the speed line attack would result in more pucks deep and more zone entries with possession and more good set-ups. Don’t give he PK any time to breathe.

The zone entries are always different on the PP. The vast majority of the time the four penalty killers are set in position waiting. That's not the case nearly as often at even strength.

Exactly. Enter the zone with speed and you’ll catch them flat footed. At least mix it up a bit. I hate what they are doing right now and it doesn’t work for them.

Alzner/Deslauriers in, Reilly/Hudon out, apparently to better match up with the opponent. Turns out they're making the Blues look like a fast team so far.

Julien suggested he might split Domi and Drouin soon, I'm thinking it happens now.

Good team management by the coach. He's not throwing line combos into a blender every game. It's a logical time to make a more impactful change. The team is 1-3 in its last four with just 5 goals scored.

Hopefully Drouin is off the point on the PP...

The article said they shifted Weber to the half wall as the main shooter for PP1. Looks like Drouin is still up top. Here’s the PP units they practiced with...

    Agostino
    Weber - Byron - Armia
    Drouin

    Gallagher
    Kotkaniemi - Tatar - Domi

Not crazy at all about Drouin being the last man back. Mete or Reilly should be there, since they're both good skaters and used to operating from back there.

I’d be curious to know what the refs take is for “missing” the myriad hooking, holding, and interference penalties the Bruins continue to commit tonight. It’s an f’ing disgrace. NBC must give them a “tie bonus” for getting a televised game to OT. Only reason I can think of.

I didn't see anything wrong with the refs, no need for that. Big win.

Niemi is back to playing like last year. That's three great games in a row for him.
