Gustav Olofsson re-signed to one-year, two-way deal. He missed almost all of this year with an injury. Decent organizational depth guy, I guess. He has some NHL experience with Minnesota.

Charles Hudon apparently turned down his $700k 2-way qualifying-offer, his last contract was one-way.

    All About The Habs@AATHabs

Hudon received a qualifying offer from Bergevin, but he and his team refused it.

Machabee mentions that she spoke to Hudon; he told her he’ll know about what his future holds come Sunday.#Habs #GoHabsGo https://twitter.com/chantalmachabee/status/1141063685907070976 …

Too bad he hasn't worked out for the Habs. I've always liked him since his days as a Hamilton Bulldog but he doesn't fit into their roster at this point.

This doesn't necessairly mean he's gone, but yeah it's very likely he does not return.

GM's have to at least extend a QO to retain the players RFA status.

It's not unusual for a player to receive a QO, decline, and then accept another contract offer.

Don't fall into the media trap of putting too much emphasis on something that happens pretty regularly. He's unlikely to return but we knew that based on how things played out on the ice. Or in his case how things played out in the press box.

Carey Price just became one of my favourite players / person, with the moment and support he provided to
Anderson Whitehead. A lump in the throat touching moment for me during the awards. FWIW I also lost my mother to cancer. I wasn’t 11 like Anderson, but at 25 it was still tough. Leaves a huge void.

Yeah, saw it on Twitter this morning. A great heartfelt moment.

Danault received a bit of love in the Selke voting. Good for him because once you're in the "club" it becomes easier to get votes in future years. I mean, how many years in a row were Datsyuk/Toews/Bergeron the default picks?

According to Bergevin, Benn will test free agency. I hope this holds true because he's likely to be overpaid. I also can't put a lot of stock into quotes after all the garbage info that came out recently about Alex Edler. I wouldn't be surprised if Benn re-signed tomorrow.

I was doubting you last time that he would get recognition. Glad to see I was wrong. Finishing 7th feels right to me. He even got a first place vote from Dave Poulin of TSN.

    Yeah good news
I know Benn did a good job in PK, but I always felt nervous in 5vs5 in our zone.

Benn is fine when he's not asked to do too much and he can chip in with a bit of offense. He's completely lost when he plays against top competition for a long stretch. The problem is whichever team overpays for him will want to put him out there against good forwards.

I can't see why Bergevin would bring back Benn if not on a team-friendly contract. And if I was Benn, I don't see why I wouldn't cash in on the UFA market after a solid if unspectacular season.
