Yeah it’s working out ok. Habs are also missing a lot of players. Which helps I guess.

Yup totally, they have to finish 22nd or worst, now becoming a long shot after that annoying win v the Leafs the other night...

That's why I said balls "if any" that contribute to lottery win.

Montreal’s later round picks remind me a lot of when I’m drafting and it gets late, I’ve had too many beers, and and my list has been exhausted.

Petry to Oilers or Wings would be my guess.

It was a good trade for the Habs

Petry is worth more in a trade than Hoffman
Desmith is worth more in a trade than Pitlick
The extra prospect and 2nd round pick is great

Petry and Desmith are up in the air right now. They will be moved eventually, but I'm not sure it happens right away (especially Desmith). This could drag into the season. But all in all they're in a better position to acquire more future assets.

Hearing from multiple sources that Logan Mailloux received the green light from the NHL to play for the @CanadiensMTL when his time will come. So this is the end of all speculations regarding his future.

I think it was under-reported the fact he didn't want to be drafted in 2021 and wanted to focus on his reconciliation and growth. As dumb of an act it was he did in Sweden, he at least did do his "time" and at a minimum regurgitated a PR move well (which seems to be easier said than done now-a-days).

I still don't quite like how the NHL goes about their eligible players process, but with minimal differences between getting picked 1st overall and 200th overall there's no reason for a player to opt into the draft if they don't want to be picked by the #1 overall team.

I would like to see some ability for a player to request to not be drafted at all, but it's such a low priority it's moot.

But he should be a welcomed addition to the minor league clubs locker room. a 6'3" 210lb RHD, he could be a big steal for MTL moving forwards.

I wonder why type of rehabilitation was done to warrant the league allowing him to receive the green light.

My guess is that the NHL just cared about him staying out of the news.

I think one difference here is he was prosecuted in Sweden. As far as legal proceedings go he did his time per the laws of the country where he committed the crime. In this case he was fined. On the spectrum of offenses that have been swept under the carpet and/or we are waiting on investigation results from lately I have no problem with the NHL clearing him to play. I still wish the Habs had not drafted him as he requested. But we move forward.
