Rundblad looked very very shaky. Money has to be on he starts in the AHL.

Gonchar also looked incredibly well, but that may have something to do with the lack of veterans in the lineup for Boston.

Yeah Rundblad doesn't look comfortable. The AHL will do him good, nothing wrong with that. But there's still 6 games in the pre-season so we'll see.

He pretty much has to look better than Brian Lee to make it, and Lee was the best player last night.

can Rundblad go to the AHL? Isn't he too young, and it's NHL or back to junior?

nvm, I see that he is 21 soon. I'd forgotten how Ottawa aquired him, thought he was drafted this year.

No, he never played junior hockey, he played in Sweden. The AHL only has an age restriction for players drafted from a CHL team. Even if he DID play junior hockey, he would be old enough anyway.

For example, Robin Lehner played in the AHL last year at 19.

Rundblad just said he hasn't decided on whether he would go to the AHL or back to Sweden if he didn't make the Sens out of camp. I didn't even know Sweden was an option for him.

I doubt he would go back to Sweden, but it's something to keep an eye on.

He doesn't want to say he's okay with the AHL and give the coaches a free pass in the decision. If he says he's unsure, maybe they keep him around.

    What I've been waiting for:

Filatov is supposed to line up with Spezza in tonight's game!

...if I might add, we are currently dating, and she is quite a handful in the bedroom...

Nothing in terms of points but Filatov was very noticeable at BOTH ends of the ice. Backchecks very well. Him and Spezza and Butler were showing some nice chemistry later on in the game. A few slick offensive plays by Filatov and SPezza especially.

Da Costa was also very good centering a line with Alfie and Michalek on his wings. Him, Regin, and Zibanejad have both looked good at various times in games they have played. Da Costa looks like a huge coup for the Sens. Looks like one of the better college free agents in years. Just so gifted offensively and defensively with very nice vision and skating ability.

Michalek was the hardest working Sen and scored a goal. A bounce back year to 50 points is in store for him.

Oh damn didn't notice MTL tied it. Thought the game was over haha. We're in OT...

Thanks Ev. How did Karlsson and Spezza look?

Spezza was good for his first game. Made some really nice passes to Filatov and Butler, shootout goal was deceptive. He was trying to make plays even though there wasn't one available to try and feed his linemates/try to gain some chemistry with them. Some bad passes etc. but meh.

Ditto Karlsson. He was ok. Wasn't paying too much attention to him though.
