Any chance that he makes the big club this upcoming season and what do you think of his long term potential? What kind of player might he turn out to be and what kind of player is he most likely to become?

I really like the look of that 2nd line, could be a damn good line if Regin can bounce back and Alfie avoid injury.

Jakob Silfverberg will head back to Sweden, but the Murrays are trying to keep him here for camp.

Early line projections (with Mika Zibanejad making the team):

    Filatov-Spezza-Michalek
    Foligno-Regin-Alfredsson
    Greening-Smith-Butler
    Condra-Konopka-Neil
    Winchester

    Phillips-Lee
    Cowen-Karlsson
    Gonchar-Rundblad
    Carkner

I think Kuba gets dealt, along with a forward or two.

Mika Zibanejad is a wild card. If he makes team he is the 2nd line or 3rd line centre.

Where is he in that lineup, though?

Sorry, that was supposed "without" Zibanejad making the team.

He will be given 2nd line minutes if he makes the team, or else there's no point for him to be here IMO.

The lineup is pretty tough to project. The only think set in stone is Spezza as the #1 centre. That's about it lol.

Don't think there's any chance he makes it.

I see his potential as Chris Kelly. Solid two-way potential but not much offense. He saved himself this year (team told him to start taking hockey seriously and stark working hard), but this year will be another big year for him if he ever wants to be an NHL player.

He projects as a 3rd line centre. He will become that or a Top 6 AHL player.

Actually, I would change those now after thinking over a few things. But every line should get some good minutes...Cowen and Rundblad will not be given low TOI if they make the team. The coach has been really tooting Gonchar's horn so he should still get top minutes.

I would change the lines to this:

    Phillips-Gonchar (Gonchar prefers right-side)
Kuba-Karlsson (Karlsson's partner when he's played his best hockey)
Cowen-Rundblad (rookie pairing, would compliment eachother well).
    Carkner/Lee

This will be easier when the situation is resolved by trade or roster move, which I very much believe will happen before October.

    PP d-men will

The Sens new Heritage jersey was leaked today. Although the club obviously won't confirm, it seems legit.

The leak was a photocopy in black-and-white, but here a fan on HFBoards has touched it up with the expected colour scheme:

Hmmm, looks a tad Habs barberpole-ish. Not bad though, I never minded the barber pole, as long as it was only used in a couple of games (beyond that, the eyes started to suffer...).

Love this new third. Classy and awesome. Big upgrade over what we had before. This will probably become the primary jersey 2 years or so haha.

I don't see any resemblence to the Habs barberpole. That had stipes all over, this is just 4, and they are bigger.

This is the one you're referring to right?

Big Ev - got any up to date thoughts on Da Costa, Condra and Greening? Pretty deep league - have the first two on the farm but looking for a forward or two to play up to start the season. Greening is on FA in a league that holds 700 players - is he worth a look? lots of offensive cats but mostly need points.

    Thanks in advance.

Da Costa - should be in the AHL for most of the year

Condra and Greening - probably will play together on a third line.

I don't think there's much upside for this year in terms of points. I think best case for Condra and Greening are Chris Kelly-type numbers, so you're looking at about 30 points max.

Long term, Da Costa is the best choice. He definitely holds value in a deep league like yours. He is all about offence and skill, just needs to get physically and mentally ready for the NHL.

Condra and Greening are guys who will play well in all situations but probably not valuable for points only. If you need somebody to play this year then go with Greening. IMO he is the best of the two and proved he can skate like the wind and play a solid NHL game. Condra is very similar. He can do it all.

Thanks for the response, Big Ev - exactly the kind of info I was looking for. Based on this I will confidently tuck Da Costa on the farm and start Condra - probably take a pass on Greening as there are a couple of old dudes on FA who should post numbers in the 40-50 range for this year - kinda would prefer a C though so that was what caught my eye - will put a watch on him. Much appreciated.
