Team A is paying more in bonuses than Team B in full payroll. Doesn't that sound like 2004 all over again?

The sad part is, they could really be taking advantage of a lot of teams in cap hell and helping their rebuild, if that is truly what they wanted to do. At this point, I don't think Melnyk cares about the rebuild as much as he does making his team pay out as little as possible in salaries. I saw yesterday that there was talk about him doing this to make his team more attractive to potential buyers but who knows. At this point, I'm kinda embarrassed for the Sens and their fans; and this is coming from an Oilers fan.

At least the Oilers will spend money to improve the team, it’s just ... they don’t have any money.

Can the QC owners just buy this team and move it East already?

Chiarelli had the green light to spend money. He just wasn't very good at it.

It's really not a bad approach in terms of trying to sell the team...
A new owner will come in with a huge amount of cap space and not terrible or horrible contracts on the books.
They have a fair amount of really good prospects coming along
and with 3 - 1st rounders and 6 2nd rounders over the next two seasons...
There's a decent stockpile of picks for a new owner to direct this team back upwards.

One could argue it's as attractive a team, if not more attractive to purchase than say Vancouver who have a few flashy pieces. A bunch of shitty contracts, a horrible developmental system & no system depth

and looks to toil as a wild card team for the next half decade

Was intrested to see where these three went.

Lajoie was pushed out by Brann and or Hainsey i suspect
Was hoping Forementon and Norris would have found a home in the big club

I wont lie, I really thought Jonathan Davidsson had a good chance of making that team as a 3rd liner. I didnt see a lot of their games to see how he played but clearly not good enough. Lajoie was a bit of a surprise too.

Seems like Batherson is a few steps closer to the opening night roster.

Anisimov and Colin White were put on IR this morning and Logan brown has been called up. He's practicing on the 1st line this morning.

    Tkachuk Brown Duclair
    Namestnikov Tierney Ryan
    Paul Pageau Brown
    Ennis Beaudin Saboruin

Pierre Dorion says Anisimov is out two weeks with lower body. Colin White is our three to five weeks with hip flexor. #Sens

Nilsson with a W finally!! Hows he look out there?? Hows his body language?? Man- hes got the size and based on the stats it seems like his got the skills to really push towards being an impact goalie in this league. I wonder if he sticks it out with ottawa long term...

I see in the ramblings that Logan Brown is up with the big boys. He seems like an interesting and cheap pick up in a cap league.
Any comments on his upside? Top line potential or more of a top 9ish utility guy with some skill ?

I liken him more as a mid-six C. Def. not 1st line potential.
