Thanks for the summary. I'm thinking of starting a screenplay titled "How Gonchy Got His Groove Back".

Game 11 - Sens @ Rangers in 20 minutes time

    Same lineup as last game:

    Michalek-Spezza-Greening
    Foligno-Da Costa-Alfredsson
    Daugavins-Smith-Neil
    Smith-Konopka-Winchester

    Karlsson-Kuba
    Cowen-Gonchar
    Phillips-Rundblad

    Anderson
    Lehner

Only change is Auld is out with an injury so Robin Lehner has been called up from Binghamton to serve as the back-up.

If anyone wants to see Lehners season debut, turn on the game around 3:30

Nope but what you will see is the refs giving out 5 minute penalties like it's free candy. What a complete joke on the Konopka call.

That was pretty bad. I would have given 2. Great job by Anisimov selling it. Don't Sens fans want to lose for Nail anyways?

Sens win 5-4 in the shootout. A thriller of a game. They were down 4-1 in the third and came back once again. They lead the league in 3rd period goals.

Ottawa is now 6-5-0 on the year.

I am lazy so this is a mini-stas recap by Senators Extra:

Here are a few things that jumped out of the game sheet Saturday:
    — Filip Kuba led all Senators with three points (all assists). Erik Karlsson, Jason Spezza and Milan Michalek each had two points.
    — Karlsson played 29:45 in the game, which would normally be enough to lead all players. He was still well behind Rangers defenceman Dan Girardi (33:14) on this night, however.
    — Michalek, Spezza and Karlsson combined for 15 of Ottawa’s 40 shots. Spezza’s willingness to shoot more has resulted in seven goals already this young season. I’ve always thought he could score 40 in a season if he tried.
    — Zenon Konopka and Jesse Winchester combined to go 7-1 on faceoffs, which somewhat offset Stephane Da Costa’s 2-9 run.

    Notes:

    -
Some points: Kuba (3), Spezza (2), Michalek (2), Karlsson (2)

-Alfredsson was hit in the head by Wolski and had to leave the game. Probably out for tomorrow and who knows how long after that.

-Nikita Filatov called up to Ottawa to presumably replace Alfie.

Was the Filatov call-up confirmed? I heard that they were denying it

Filatov was skating with the Sens in the morning but won't play tonight. Butler to replace Alfy. And Lehner to get the nod.

Excited to see Butler back and Lehner start. We'll see how much he has progressed since his last NHL stint (well, not really since it is just 1 game, but still).

Looking forward to the game tonight! Two surging teams collide. Should be a fun one.

    Ugh.

Of course I lose patience and send Lehner to my farm team two nights ago (can't start him tonight) and Butler's on IR so I don't think I can drop someoen fast enough. Arrrgh.

Do you think Butler's worth activating? Or should I just drop him to FA :\

Drops maybe Neil, Wheeler, ...Corvo? I'm not sure.

Where do you see him slotting in?

Probably not worth it at the moment. At the moment the Top 6 is set in stone for the most part (that's with a healthy Alfie though).

Not sure what you mean by your second comment. Are those guys your other options? If so I'll take Wheeler over him for now.
