It's more to point out they chose 2 yrs in a row a more expensive, wrong option. If you're getting sub-par goaltending, at least don't pay a lot for it.

Right now, would you not prefer $1m (kinda $2m) Talbot for 1yr, than a $20m investment into Korp?

I now get what you were trying to say. I would definitel;y go on the cheap with those guys. Ideally, I like a 2 year deal for a goalie who I think can help. Gives you some certainty moving forward.

Unless you have a Hasek that system never works.

His contract isn't an issue to the Sens ownership/GM either. He is under contract next yr, but it's a club option. So he's essentially in his final year right now.

Stutzle can kill any momentum or bump, even the new coach smell. The amount of plays that die on his stick are too numerous to count. His pre-drafts counting reports were accurate and he hasn’t adapted to change them because he can’t. He can’t see through layers and most definitely can’t think through them. Unfortunately, NHL defences have layers in place which make Stützle’s deficiencies glaring and magnified during losing streaks.

I get that Sogaard looked downright bad in NHL action this season, but at what point do you give him a long look if not now? Are they afraid of throwing him to the wolves, hurting his confidence in the process? I realize teams are concerned about turning highly regarded prospects into Carter Hart or John Gibson by placing them into an environment where success is all but impossible; however, Sogaard was drafted back in 2019 and been biding time in the AHL for parts of four seasons, so he's not some babyface barely out of juniors. Maybe see what he's made of the rest of the way for 2023-24?

The problem is they invested in Forsberg and Korp money wise. And salary wise Forsberg is $2.75 and Korp $5m for next yr, they aren't moving away from them yet. They aren't Staios guys, but I can't see the Sens moving off them yet just based off money.
