How's Nils Lundkvist looked in the games he's played this year? Is he worthy of his top 5 ranking in the Dobber dmen prospect list?

His name is being mentioned in a trade talks for me and I'm trying to figure out if he's worth acquiring over a few other options.

Nils has looked good - he's still raw, and he needs to bulk up, but he's going to put up points in this league.

How does being behind Fox pan out for Nils? With Fox being one of the best in the game, its hard to see Nils getting much PP time anytime soon as Fox is 23 yo and will be running that PP for a fantasy lifetime. I think this factor significantly impacts Nils fantasy upside.

wow that was an ugly win in Carolina tonight

Consider Sim Hockey because guys who play shutdown minutes, deflect shots and clear creases build championships. Yet in fantasy they litter the unwanted UFA lists.

call me a homer but I would say overall Drury won deadline day. Love the Braun move and the price for Copp could've been worse. All in all brought in some much needed higher pedigree forwards to push the likes of Hunt, Brodzinski, maybe even Gauthier out of the lineup. Nice to see after several years of them being sellers making moves to announce they intend to try to compete with the big dogs.

I was at the game. That was the goal that we’ve been waiting for (as a laffy owner). Hopefully the rags give him more too 6 or even top line time. He was all over the ice and made some really nice plays throughout the game. Poor Detroit looked like a minor league team.

Lafreniere won't crack the top six until he is 23-25 IMO. Vatrano and Copp should be resigned IMO based on their seamless transition into this offense. As much as the Rangers can score, Frank is one of few shoot first players they have at right age (28), Copp is a premier utility forward at the right age (27), that fits the timeline of the currents stars in Panarin, Mika, Kreider (age 28-30). This is what should be the "current" core of contention whilst said three stars are at the peak of their abilities. Lafreniere/Kakko should be groomed for the transitional period down the road when these players age out of their primes and take on secondary scoring roles. Lafreniere needs to still gain several pounds before he can be anything prominent. He still gets bulled off pucks and does not have the extra gear to compensate for it. Kakko is ready to be a scorer a la Ehlers behind Scheifele, Connor, Wheeler. He has gained the weight and the skill is there but now we are seeing fragility which will stifle further development somewhat. I am rambling now but in summary, while I want to see Laffy prosper I do not think he has a shot at consistent top six minutes right now if all are healthy/producing as they currently are.

fair price for Blais, I think he will perform well above that price barring injury. Let's see how crafty Drury is with a little under $12 million to sign all of the UFA's. Copp is priority numero uno for me followed by Motte. Strome I won't be mad if they sign but anything over 5 mil per year and I would rather he go after the likes of Trocheck who had a down season. Rooney, McKegg, Vatrano are the chopping block candidates though Frank and his shoot first mentality is well needed still on a team of pass first types. After next season they will finally be free of all dead cap from Shattendirt, Girardi (FINALLY), DeAngelo. Seven UFA's in total this summer, let's see what kind of magic he has as GM. I strongly foresee a draft day trade to get back into the first round.

The rumour is the NYR have been in talks with the Jets for a deal around PLD and the return is rumoured to be Kakko.

This is just the bones of a deal, and just rumours obviously though. It was reported on RDS.

Feels like Kakko and Chytil (and/or one of their young D) would be needed here. Otherwise the Jets dealt Laine & Roslovic for Kakko + bit parts.

Be a strong move for NYR to be able to lock down their 2C with a guy like PLD though.

PLD is an RFA, so I don't know how much value he has in the trade market, it would depend on his thoughts on his next deal. I think he's a UFA if he signs a 1yr deal, so that factors into it.

The good news for the Rangers is it sounds like PLD wants to be in a big city.
