Shesterkin looked good and Rangers rallied. Positive signs for them.

They are still such a young team and in transition

wait until Staal, Henrik and Brendan Smith are gone...

Hank got shelled, guess we see Igor again...? Or maybe Georgie to keep him sharp.

I read somewhere it’s likely Shesterkyn gets sent down over the all star break to keep playing, Geogiev gets shopped, and Shest comes back up for a very busy Feb to get the bulk of the starts.

this team has some of the most desirable assets at the deadline so things are going to happen for sure. I mean even DeAngelo as good as he has been becomes about the biz of it as his current one year deal is straight robbery and he is easily going to command five to six times that per year based on his scoring rate. The pipe dream is trading Henrik, Georgiev is the realistic one that is dealt along with Kreider, and then Shest gets a timeshare the rest of the season because he seems capable despite small sample size.

I think I'm not the only NYR fan who would welcome Hank leaving town

He's been a great ranger but he isn't aging like fine wine

Any idea why Shesterkin got two starts back to back, two wins, and now hes a spectator? If you arent going to start him, send him back down.

Showcasing Georgiev for a trade. See my previous post for the plan for Shesterkin.

Georgiev is 4-1 vs the Icelanders and has something like a 950% vs them

It might be showcasing but the kid clearly loves to play Long Island

Shesterkin is going to be the starting goalie for NY, but for now there is a settling in phase. New culture, new team, new league. 2 starts is a great beginning, but its only a sniff of his potential. 3 goalies are fine for now.

Henrik is the guy who should be gone, not Alex or Igor

Ya but what would they even get for Hank at this point? The other two would bring back a considerable return. Plus Im pretty sure Hank doesn't want to leave.

    Did someone mention trading Lundquist?

I guess I took donpaulo saying Henrik should be gone as to mean he should be dealt.

I get the whole showcasing thing but why keep the kid up if thats your plan when he could be down in the AHL still getting in games.

And to be fair, do the Rangers really need to showcase Georgiev? He's been starting fairly regularly throughout the season as it is. Teams already know him and what he's capable of.

They’ve got two more games until the all star break. Shesterkin should get one or both of those starts and then go back down. I agree Lunquist isn’t going anywhere nor does he have any value really. Apparently the Leafs are inquiring on Georgiev - which doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
