    Default 2 OV Trades

Which one of these would you rather have?

E Staal, Ryan, Karlsson & Niitty for Ovechkin, Edler & Fleury

    OR

Ryan, Giroux & Niitty for Ovechkin & Halak

I am receiving OV in these deals and was wondering which one you would rather do.

I'd rather do this deal for AO if I were you:

E Staal, Ryan, Karlsson & Niitty for Ovechkin, Edler & Fleury

Giroux is a bit of a SHP stud. He will win you that category quite a few times, so I'd rather keep him. Plus, I think the return is much better.

As much as i hate to give up Giroux u gotta make the 2nd deal. Losing Staal really hurts your C position & Karlsson your already very young def. And Halak is a great addition to your Goalies. And you could probably use Ward as trade bait.

At the sametime You might try holding onto a Giroux or Staal and try to get OV alone. But that 2nd deal is pretty good.

He's already stated it doesn't work without Giroux or Ryan so I have to try something.

Take the 2nd trade and RUN!!! You make out like a bandit!! Nitty is nothing more than a split time goalie, while Halak will be a top5 for the next decade. There's no indication Ryan and Giroux will ever break 85 points in a season, plus it also opens up a roster spot for you. However, the first trade wins too. You should be happy either way.

Do the 2nd deal then. Consider trading Ward then in a pkge for a good RW(Okposo will be good as a #3 die now) & an extra def.

Giroux is currently on pace for 85 points, 20 games in... I think that is an indication that he can and will break 85 points in his career. Hell, he could do it this year. He'll also get you 5-10 SHPs, each one of those can win you the weekly category.

I can agree with you on SHP, but he's scoring over his head. Philly's simply too crowded upfront for him to score 85 in a season unless one of Richards, Carter, Briere or Hartnell have a major injury. That's what's holding him back the most, not his skill. I see him capping out around 80 points this year and next.

I don't know if I can do this.....I mean I know OV and Jaro are upgrades but when I go to send it, I see all the cats I'm giving away with Ryan and Giroux and I shudder....

Without a SOG category, Ovechkin is not QUITE as dominant as in some other formats, and Staal is a GWG beast because he scores such a high % of his team's goals, but what makes me say yes to the trade is the goaltending benefit to you on top of landing Ovechkin. It's not a steal, though.
