Officepools
Once again this year officepools changes their format and it sucks. Its very slow and they wven have added stat categories next to our chosen cats and its not very user friendly, I would like them to bring back the classic version again this year, why do they have to mess with a perfectly good system. Im emailing them right now to voice my opinion.
Anyone else having similar problems??

I agree. As comish of one league using officepools I am not a fan of the changes they have made.
It's so slow I can barely log in and the added stat categories don't make any sense. Our pool counts bonus points for OT winners but not SOG, however I get the SOG counts and not the OT winner stats?? Not cool with the changes either, maybe I'll send an email too but I doubt they care.

Totally agree! When I emailed them asking for some of the old version options (like the ability to sort a team based on positions!), the response was confusing and unhelpful as well.
The old trash talk was better, the layout was better, it was faster, and I liked the simplicity (we use points only in that pool, so I liked not needed all the additional information being listed).
I want officepoolsclassic back -- when it ain't broke, don't fix it!

100% agree...they have learnt nothing from last years attempt.

The only good thing about the new set up is entering Trades as the Commissioner. There is NO WAY our league returns to officepools if I have anything to say about it next year.
Fantrax....here we come.
The trades are worse! To trade a benched player, I have to activate them, trade them, then bench the new player. You should be able trade any roster player.

yeah the trade function sucks..... we also have SOG but do not count them, its just useless info on the screen.....I would use fantrax if they had "drop your lowest" check boxes and sent them an email and they said next year they will add that to their site.
Fantrax here we come too. Im not paying after my officepool trial ends if they dont give us the classic option again.

Must say I agree too....I have no less than 4 pools on there. When I log in to one of them, it somehow makes a duplicate account on my home page. WTF?
Also, when looking at my own team on the right, the default view is the drafting order of the players I picked. Dumb, dumb, dumb. So then, you click by 'total points' and it sorts from bottom to top, so all my rookies and prospects show up first. Dumb, dumb, dumb again. Click it again, to get the guys at the TOP.
I must say that the old classic system was perfect for my pools......
I'm interested to see if anyone out there LOVES the new system, vs the classic version. Maybe somone should send this thread to the guy there - Richard I think his name is.
I do appreciate that they're trying to upgrade the site, but man, ask a few of us regulars what WE think before going to all that programming......must be a nightmare for them I'm sure.
I sent them an email with most of these reponses earlier ....I will post what they reply.

they really need to give their head a shake. i mean 2 years in a row of bungled new implementation is so stupid, especially since they had an engaged user base that was only going to grow naturally with the expanse of hockey pools. i mean wtf try to reinvent the wheel?? office pool classic was so simple but so good to just track the average hockey pool. do that and leave the nuts and bolts of finer points to the others.

You can no longer click on a player on my team and get a breakdown of his stats. Dumb, dumb, dumb #3.
You used to be able to click on a guy and see how he's gotten to his point (goals, assists, GWG's etc......).
Maybe I'm missing something on this one?
Ya not being able to check what the player has earned in exactly your leagues settings is dumb
The biggest downfall of Officepools however is the NUMEROUS Mentions of Dobberhockey.com through advertising and articles. It amazes me that more of my league members haven't utilized this website. I know that some know about it but all of this advertising that Dobber does SUCKS on officepools
