Default Rank these D-men's projected 3 year totals!

    Thanks for any input.

Keeper league, Points Only, d-men goals are worth 2 (forward goals just 1 pt)

    Rank 'em:

    1. PK Subban
    2. J. Carlson
    3. E. Karlsson
    4. T. Myers
    5. J. McBain
    7. O. Ekman Larsson

I'm two years away from contending. Thanks for your help!

    T. Myers

    O. Ekman Larsson - he's the wild card.. he could very easily top this list or round out the bottom 2. It really depends how PHX decides to develop him... as an all-around dman or as an offensive dman.

Since dman goals are worth 2pts...

    T. Myers
    PK Subban/E. Karlsson
    J. Carlson
    J. McBain
    O. Ekman Larsson

Myers definitely runs the powerplay for buffalo and gets the most TOI/game
Subban hasnt played a full season yet, so it's tough to tell, but the potential is there. And with markov out for the first little while, he'll be relied on more heavily.
gonchar's presence may take away from karlsson's production as it will be gonchar's shot on the PP.
carlson is way overshadowed by green's dominance
    mcbain plays for carolina...enough said
OEL may not get much ice-time or PP time.

    Hope that helps.

    1. Karlsson - Will be a monster, especially on the PP. Gonchar helps him now, and within 2-3 more years he will be a top fantasy D-man.

    2. Subban - Same as Karlsson (with Markov instead of Gonchar). He may outscore Karlsson this season, but in a few years I see them close or EK with a few more Pts.

    3. Carlson - Right up there with EK and PK. Will get nice G bonuses. When/if Green leaves the Caps, Carlson will rocket to the top with the other Karlsson.

    4. OEL - Sick skills. I agree with Ari, this kid could be the best of the group (fantasywise) or towards the bottom. All depends on how he is used, but his skills are elite.

    5. Myers - Need to see him match (or improve on) his rookie campaign. Buffalo runs hot and cold. Myers will get his goals no matter what. Just not sure if he has 55-60 Pt. upside like the others.

    6. McBain - A steady, nice offensive D-man. Not sure the 55-60 Pt. upside is there for him (or being on the Canes) but he should be a good 45-50 pointer in a few years.

The thing is, (especially with Karlsson, Subban and Carlson) all of them should be the future golden boys of fantasy hockey at the D position. When it is all said and done, the spread between 1-6 could be razor thin.

It is good to have rankings and select them based on that, but if you were to end up with one or two of these guys (no matter which ones) you should be very happy.

I am thrilled to have Karlsson, OEL and McBain on my main team and really look forward to watching these kids develop into fantasy stars.

I would rank them as follows, assuming this years production is not a big deal.

    1. J. Carlson
    2. E. Karlsson
    3. T. Myers
    4. PK Subban
    5. O. Ekman Larsson
    6. J. McBain

But as mentioned the difference is not all that much maybe 10 points on avergae from top to bottom.

    1. T. Myers: Undisputed number one in Buffalo, should increase is goal out put.

    2. E. Karlsson: Brute potential + gained NHL experience. (no.2 behind Gonchar)

    3. PK Subban: See Karlsson (no.2 behind Markov)

    4. J. Carlson: Needs seasoning (no.2 behind Green)

    5. J. McBain 14 games does not make a career, impressive none the less.

    6. O. Ekman Larsson: Wait & See
