Why is the word "reality" thrown around so much when the title of the activity is FANTASY hockey? Isnt that an oxymoron? I'm not trying to be a real GM here. I just wanna see how many of the top 25 scorers in the league I can draft on my team. I don't care if a guy blocks shots or sits in the penalty box. It's stupid and isn't representative of actual offensive talent, which is what this is all about. If I wanna act like a real GM, i'll go get a job as a real GM.

It just frustrates me when people include the word "reality" or "real life value" in fantasy sports.

to each his own...most of the leagues I play in we try to mirror the real NHL because that's what I find the most fun...it allows me to pretend I am a real world GM (that's where the fantasy part comes in NYR). Do you find Salary Cap leagues stupid too? That's sort of taking it to the final level IMO. The true REALITY here is that we've got GMs that play in a variety of league formats with all kinds of different rules, so pick your poison and run with it.

also, I'm not playing in this league...I just like to say 'YARRRRRRR!' a lot and wanted to share my experience using Hits and BkS

I would prefer 12 teams with smaller rosters...it will drive trading activity...

Btw, am I just making random suggestions or is there still a possibility to be in the league? I don't want to be interfering if I am not in?

"As it currently stands, our rosters break down like this:

12 teams x 22 roster spots = 264 total players taken

Under that proposal, the league rosters breakdown to:

14 teams x 18 roster spots = 252 total players taken

Not a huge difference. "


That was kind of the idea NYR. To keep it around the 250-260 player range. Most of the skill of these leagues is picking those 3rd liners that actually have value. Deciding between Datysuk, Kopitar Or Thornton should not be the game breaker in these pools. Kblayne, keep posting and you have my support.

I also think that the scoring categories are fine...since there was little support for hits, blocks the only other category that might have final is FOW...makes wingers that also take faceoffs, more valuable....

Just a thought....

I'd keep the categories simple, no need to add hits and blocked shots. The simpler the better.
