    Default "hits" a legitimate stat?

    Are hits a legitimate stat? I want to use them in my pool but my friend tells me that the reason the NHL doesn't give awards or show these on leader boards is because there is a bunch of inconsistencies in recording this. Have you guys heard anything?

    Every arena has there own statisticians, and I can imagine they all have a slightly different opinion on what a Hit is.
    10 Team Roto Keeper League; 20 Keepers;
    Stats: G,A,Pts,ppg,ppa,pims,+/- ; W,sv%,svs
    C: Seguin, Panarin, Carter
    LW: Benn, Hall, Buchnevich, Coyle, Zucker
    RW: Kane, Simmonds, Stone, Nino, Gallagher
    D: Subban, Doughty, Byfuglien, Jones, Mcdonagh, Fowler
    G: Price, Holtby, Halak, Reimer

    It's easy to track a team's history and see where the bias lies. I've noticed the Rangers and Stars have some abnormally high totals. It applies the same to all players. I prefer hits over shorthanded points where even the best players finish the season around 10.
