I\'ve been offered Schwarz, Ryan Malone and a 1st round pick in 09 (I am collecting them slowly) for Patrice Bergeron.

What do you think? Bergeron is due for a strong year next year and none of these guys are sure things, even Malone only got like 30 points this year.

It would free up a little salary for me but not much.

That is a horrible offer, the only and ONLY way I\'d even begin to consider it is if that pick will become a top 3 pick for the Tavares draft, and even then its not guarenteed you get him. There has to be something else you can acquire besides Scharwz and Malone.

Go to the person who has Travis Zajac and ask for Zajac and a 1st round pick in 09....that would make a bit more sense.

Yes, what I feared. I am becoming a bit of a Tavares hunter in my picks. I\'ve got 3 first rounders in 09 so far and this would be my 4th but of course it\'s no guarantee.

Tough (and silly) to trade proven stars. Also would break one of Dobber\'s golden rules - never trade your first in \'09. You never know where you\'ll end up for that year - and Tavares is out there.

I\'d actually be getting the 1st in 09. I\'m doing my best to try and gather as many as possible for that year to try and increase my odds of picking up Tavares.

And even if I miss out on Tavares it\'s already looking to be a pretty intriguing draft with lots of great talent.

But either way I just couldn\'t trade Bergeron - I\'ve got him down for a great year next year.
