Having watched MPS play live on two occasions, and on tv numerous other times, I can tell this kid has the "it" factor going for him. He oozes confidence, has a big body, can skate well, and loves driving to the net. I worry a bit about his finishing abilities in the NHL. In the games I watched, he had numerous chances to score but his touch around the net wasn't terrific. It isn't necessarily a huge concern because I think he has lots of time to improve on that side of his game, but that is one concern I have about him right now. That and the fact that he loves driving to the net and through the neutral zone sometimes with his head down. In one of the games I was watching, he got creamed while his head was down and had to leave due to injury. Again, this is something that rookies sometimes have to learn the hard way, and some players never quite figure it out (just ask Lindros).
His by far biggest weakness right now is his inconsistency. He needs to learn to drive to the net every single damn shift and not just once in a while. His speed is so dangerous.
GO WINGS!
MPS scored Sweden's only goal today against the Czech's.

Thats the 3rd time(out of only seeing a handful of his goals) that I've seen him seemingly shoot right thru a goalie. Either these goalies need to patch up the holes in there equipment, or MPS has a really heavy shot! Im guessing its the shot.

The game against Canada isn't over quiet yet, but MPS hasn't done anything today. He's been largely invisible and the few times he's had the puck, he's attempted a pass that went badly. Just a minut ago he was on a two-on-one and, as expected, he tried to pass. He MUST start shooting more. He's too easy to read right now.
GO WINGS!
i've seen hims do some good things, sentium. nothing has really worked out but he's been involved.
Wasnt his best showing, but this is the best players hes ever played against. He might have been nervous; either way it was great too see how fast he looks against NHL competition.

He looks to pass way too much. He needs to realize just how fast he is. He will definitely be a defensive presence with his takeaway ability.
The same was said about Eklund, Nylander, Forsberg, Sedin and Backstrom. The Swedes are a very unselfish bunch. There is a great chance MPS will learn to adapt in the NHL.
Look at what happend for Sedin and Backstrom this year when they finally started sniffing for goals. I think Paajarvi will figure out he needs to capitalize on his chances in the NHL.
I wish I was able to see more of this kid. From what I have seen, he sure looks like the real deal. He definitely has speed to burn and slick moves.
