Cheers! Thanks! Too bad it only showed a real quick shot of his goal. Looks like he drove down the slot and unleash a nice shot that the goalie partially saved by somehow trickled across the line. Hopefully we can find more highlights online as the games go on. They play France Tuesday.

As an MPS owner twice over, I am more than willing to believe that he can not only make the team but make an impact in 2010-2011.
He has played with the big boys for two seasons now and was a +14 this year, which I would equate to 1.5 seasons of AHL experience. Add his current WHC experience he is getting and the fact that he has his own website (amazing! lol...) I am very confident we will not be waiting long for him.
It's just too bad he plays for the Oilers... now I have to watch their "hilites" on TSN...

ugh, no kidding. i shed a single tear when Ottawa picked that big plug Cowen at #9.
I'm an Oilers fan and I still can't believe Ottawa passed on MPS to take Cowen. Why is it that sometimes the real obvious move isn't so obvious to the team drafting? Seems to me that MPS would have gone a long way to helping them replace Heatley and the soon-to-be retired Alfredsson.
Oh well...I'm not complaining too much as an Oilers fan...I still can't believe he fell to us on draft day.
Hah hah what highlights? As an Oiler fan the only highlights I saw all year were those of the other team scoring on my team over and over and over and over.
I know I loved it! As former Jets fan and seeing the Oilers beat us every playoff, the severe dislike of them has carried on to this day. Even more annoying is that there are tons of Oilers fan in Wpg, who seem to have put that all behind them and cheer for them like crazy now! Turncoats!
Oh well, if MPS starts lighting the lamp I may soften on my anti-Oilers stance, esp. if he takes Patty-O with him!

I just hope i can draft MPS this year in the 2nd round. I have picks 17,18,23,31,59,63 overall and I would like to be able to pick him with my 31 overall pick( 2nd last pick in 2nd round) Of course I would love to take him 59th or 63rd and if we have our draft just as the training camp opens then maybe he wont be on anyone's radar as I am the only Oil fan in the 16 team league. I have too many other needs to take him as early as 17,18,23. I need 2 defenseman and another impact forward before I can go with him. Unless anyone thinks I can package my 4 2nd picks for the 1st overall or 2nd overall to get Hall/Seguin, probably dreaming!!!

I definately like what I've seen from MPS too. My only question/concern as a fantasy owner... Is that does he not have a contract that carries into at least 2010-11? I was in the understanding that we don't even have a chance to see him in the NHL until the 2011-12 season, assuming he goes from the SEL straight to the NHL.
no, his contract with Timra ended this year.
the only question seems to be NHL or AHL. i think.
edit: nevermind, i really have no clue. it seems like the path is clear for him to come over, but it is also an option for the Oilers to loan him back to Timra for another year if they decide that would be better for him.

Apparently Tambi went over early to meet with MPS and his Dad about signing his ELC and getting him over to NA this fall.
I fully expect him to be here next year.
