Both Vancouver(8th seed) and Philadelphia(2nd seed) went on to make the playoffs. Philly actually won the Division beating the Islanders by one point and the Devils by two.

Vancouver lost to Detroit in 6. Philly was upsetted by Ottawa in 5. Brashear collected 0 pts but 19PIM fin those 5 games for Philly.
