    Default Kopitar for Spezza?

League and my team details in signature

Trade deadline in Sunday and the rules are that we have to drop 1 of our top 4 players at the start of next season. With the current point structure this is what I'm looking at:

    90 Kopitar Anze
    81 Malkin Evgeni
    70 Langenbrunner Jamie
    65 Staal Eric
    64 Alfredsson Daniel
    64 Hossa Marian

Obviously, Langenbrunner is the guy I want to drop. I could probably deal with dropping Alfie but the worst case is that both Hossa and Staal finish above Langenbrunner and Alfie.

Another GM has Spezza and Savard. Spezza has 42pts and Savard has 40pts so they would fit in nicely to my team.

I contacted the GM asking about hish players expecting him to go after Hossa. Instead he wants Kopitar.

I think to move Kopitar I need Spezza back.

    1. Should I move Kopitar or still try to move Hossa?
    2. If moving Kopitar, is Spezza a good return or should I be asking for more? If more, what?
    3. Should I just ride it out and hope for the best?

    His team (he's in last):

    82 Miller Ryan
    67 Laich Brooks
    66 Huet Cristobal
    55 Duchene Matt
    45 Kessel Phil
    42 Spezza Jason
    40 Savard Marc
    35 Okposo Kyle
    32 Phaneuf Dion
    30 Ladd Andrew
    29 Bouwmeester Jay
    29 Smith Mike
    29 Tkachuk Keith
    25 Tavares John
    21 Hedman Victor
    19 Anisimov Artem
    17 Lupul Joffrey
    16 Filppula Valtteri
    7 Williams Jason
    6 Grebeshkov Denis
    5 Koistinen Ville
    4 Hunwick Matt
    3 Alzner Karl
    0 Zherdev Nikolai

I'd sit back and hope for Langenbrunner. Two guys have to pass him, to lose his eligibility. I suppose that could happen from a couple different thoughts. However, he's well loved in NJ. Why would they screw him over? Not too much reason to doubt him at this point. He's pretty handy to have around, but you have to sacrifice something. You also know that it's not going last forever (Langenbrunner being a SOLID fantasy option).

Kopi or Spezza. I want Kopi. I believe Spezza has higher upside, but he also has a significantly higher injury factor. I believe one should avoid these band aid types, particularly in view of the thoughts you are having at this moment. Spezza spends too much time making his owners sad.
