I haven't been able to find anything, just wondering if you (or anybody) has heard anything on Lupul, Horton or Justin Williams eta? Thanks.

    Default going for it

I'm in second place right now in my league and I'm trying to go for it. I think my team needs are a defencemen. I was targeting Chara and Kaberle. Who from my team (in sig) would you give to get one of them? I also have 3 picks i can trade, a first and 2 seconds.

1 year H2H league in stats below.

Trying to upgrade my D, and considering sacrificing Brodeur.

Worthwhile to trade my Brodeur + Knuble/Downie for his Perry + Boyle?

I would likely pick up Niemi, Nittymaki, or S.Mason off FA list.

    Hi Dobber!

In my league we own two goalies and use them on every game night. I own Luongo and Turco , I recently dropped Huet. Should I stick with Turco who might be traded to Philly or go with Niemi or Leighton? Goalie wins are worth 1 point and a shutout is worth 3 pts. Thanks!

    S. Team in sig, salary cap league. Buddy likes goligoski and is willing to move hemsky for gogo as hemmer is injured. He is in competition this year while I am not. Gogo has a great salary, but so does hemmer. I am pretty deep at d, but with young guys, gogo should be the quckest to produce. Would you make this move?

14 keepers for next year, team in sig, I'm thinking my keepers are as follows:

    C: Thornton, Getz, M.Richards
    W: Gaborik, Hossa, Horton, Eriksson
    D: Cambpell, Kaberle, Letang, Karlsson
    G: Lundqvist, Hiller
    + 1 of Pominville, AK46, Weiss, Visnovsky

As in other keeper leagues, Cs are more bountiful so Weiss is probably out even though he's the most likely of that bunch to generate 70-80 points next year. With good offensive Dmen at a premium, i'm tempted to keep Visnovsky as my 5th D (which would also protect me if Letang and Karlsson don't break out) and then spend my early round draft picks on wingers primarily, but tough to drop Pommer and AK46.

One factor is that I already have an extra 2nd rounder and an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder next year, plus whoever I drop I will probably try to trade for value (more early round draft picks).

Finally, I'm assuming that you would definitely keep Horton and Eriksson over Pommer and AK46, and that you would keep Karlsson over Visnovsky, but let me know if your choices would be different.

    D: Campbell - Kaberle - Visnovsky - Letang - Tyutin - Salo - Karlsson
    G: Lundqvist - Hiller

    Thanks!

Everything you said is how I would do it - and I would keep Visnovsky and have strength in the D position. Yes, tough to drop Pommer and AK, but you can get them back easy enough I'm sure, or the equivalent.

Martin is worth keeping, but it would depend on who you would have to drop instead.

I would think New Jersey could pull some strings to keep him. They always seem to swing stuff like that. There is where my money is.
Otherwise it would be some crazy team with crazy cap room willing to back up the Brinks truck such as the Islanders or the Oilers. Not that they are willing to do that, but they have space (well, the Oilers will when they move a dman) and they are kinda crazy.

Niedermayer, Carle and Kovalev go bye-bye. I would hope for bounce back from Dumont, and focus on d-men in the redraft.

Hey Dobber, would love your views on my one-year (non keeper) H2H pool situation. I'm barely holding on to the last playoff spot with 2 weeks to go, and this coming week I'm against the guy right behind me. It's a H2H CBS Sports rotisserie style pool (ie not the one in my sig) with the scoring categories at the bottom. We dress 2C, 4W, 4D and 2G and we get 6 on the bench. I have

    C: Crosby, Malkin, Plekanec
W: Elias, Gionta, Kunitz, Dumont, Booth, Cammalleri
D: Boyle, Gonchar, Edler, Letang, Goligoski, Barker
    G: Hiller, Chris Mason, Emery

I feel my W and my G are my weaknesses. Trades aren't an option as the league is fairly passive in that regard. There are no good G on the waiver wire (best are Pavelec, Deslauriers and Rask) so I'm hoping that Emery plays again this season. There are some decent W on the wire: Demitra, Backes, Hornqvist, Downie, Frolik, Huselius, Bergfors.

While none of these W are stars (this year), I've been thinking of dropping Plekanec (who always sits on my bench) to improve my W depth so with 7 forwards at least in the 4 I start in a given week I could maximize the number of games played. I could also possibly drop Goligoski, or improve on Dumont.

Would love to hear if you think these are good ideas.

    Scoring for Categories
    +/- - Plus Minus 1 point
    A - Assists 2 points
DA - Defenseman Assists 1 point
DG - Defenseman Goals 2 points
    G - Goals 3 points
GA - Goals Against -.5 points
HT - Hat Tricks 5 points
PPG - Power Play Goals 2 points
    S - Saves 0.2 points
SHG - Short Handed Goals 4 points
SO - Shut Outs 5 points
SOG - Shots on Goal 0.2 points
    W - Wins 5 points
