I'm curious on your take on the soon to return Lehtonen and the Atlanta goalie gong show.

Looking at my 1 year-roto team(which is in 1st place by a nose), I'm preparing for life without Leighton, unless Emery totally craps the bed (which is possible, I guess...)

Anyway, Lehtonen is available... Who would you put your money on as my #3 keeper from this free agent list: Lehtonen, Smith, Ellis, DiPietro or hold Leighton and hope he still gets playing time?
For this year I would just stick with Leighton and hope for the best. RDP and KL could both tear their groin tomorrow. Risk is too high

    Default Nash vs Iginla

In a keeper...goal heavy, no Pims.

Being offered Nash for my Iggy? should I take it?

edit: ok so he's changed his mind but still would like to know who I'm better off with.

Is it a good time to pursue Letang and Goligoski?
I wanted to increase defensive points in the second half and their values seem to be low. Will one or the other start to preform?
What is Ericcson's (DET) value as a keeper?

Hey Dobber, thanks for you time!

In a 1-year roto league, which goalie would you rather have for the rest of the year (W,GAA,Sv%,SHO) :

    Emery, Ward, Varlamov, Hiller..?

    Thanks!

Oh sorry, 1 more question that kind of ties in to my other one. So you think I should hold onto Morrow? What do you see him doing the rest of the way? The following guys are on waivers, please let me know if any of them are legit upgrades over him:

    C.Stewart
    M.Raymond
    M.Knuble
    R.Clowe
    T.Ruutu
    S.Avery
    R.Clowe

    Thanks, as always

That's a nice surprise! Thanks for doing this!

Quick question for you, which of these D (your top 3 if you can) you like the most for the rest of the season in a standard ROTO:

Tallinder, Huskin, RyWilson, Eaton, Leopold, JBoychuk, Pothier, JSchultz, Gunnarsson

    Thanks in advance!

Do you see Bailey staying on the Wing for Tavares for years to come? Or is this just something for now and Bailey will be the Line 2 Center for the Islanders?

How many points for Bailey the next few Seasons and then once he is in his prime?

Do you think Kovalchuk may end up on the Islanders?

    Thanks.

Will Marty Brodeur's production decrease over the next few years, or do you see him putting up 40-50 wins and 5-10 shutouts for at least the next two seasons?

What point production do you expect out of the following for the next 2-3 seasons?

    Dan Boyle
    Jumbo Joe
    Getzlaf
    Marian Hossa
    Marty St. Louis.

Giordano has seen at least 21 minutes of ice time in 18 of his last 19 contests. He now leads the Flames in points with 20 with 12 of them coming in the last 21 games. He seems to have usurped Jay Bouwmeester on the top PP unit and I think you’ll see him add another 18 to 21 points to end the season.

That answer was so well done, I'm using it in tomorrow's THN column

    Hi Dobbs,

My D is a serious sorespot on my full keeper team. I'm currently sporting Green, Gonchar, Niskanen, Russell, Picard, Carkner.

I have an opportunity to pick up Giordano. How much love do you have for each of the latter four guys?

    Thanks in advance!

    1. 60-point stud. Just an offer year. It happens to all of the greats, even Lidstrom and Pronger.
    2. No, no, and yes - another NHL team. Not Washington. Maybe Dallas or Colorado (when they trade Liles) or a team in need of him.
    3. In that 45-55 point range until he's 25 or 26 and then he'll pop.
    4. Same as Del Zotto, but a tad fewer points because he gets hurt so much.

    1) Straight up, one-year league. Would you trade away Brenden Morrow (LW) to receive Steve Downie (RW)?

    2) Would you rather own JP Dumont (RW) or Michael Frolik (C, RW) for the rest of the year in a one-year?

    The Great One

    Default Team Audit

Thanks for doing this, Dobber. I am in desperate need of a team audit. I've struggled with my keeper team for a few years in a row now, always finishing near the bottom of the standings.
It is a 12 team, H2H, salary cap league using actual NHL salaries. Points-only. We set our rosters weekly. Below is my roster listed first, followed by the rosters of the top 2 teams in the league (to give you something to gauge by).

What should I try to do in the off-season to improve my team and hopefully challenge for the championship soon. I am getting tired of finishing low in the standings year in and year out.

    My team:

    Heatley
    Hossa
    Spezza
    Vanek
    Giroux
    Peverley

    Letang
    Kuba
    Niedermayer
    I. White

    Quick
    C. Mason

    Team in 1st:

    Ovechkin
    Semin
    M. Richards
    Toews
    St. Louis
    Stamkos

    Campbell
    Pronger
    Edler
    Visnovsky

    Fleury
    Hiller

    Team in 2nd:

    Gaborik
    Kovalchuk
    Kopitar
    Tavares
    Backstrom
    Kessel

    Phaneuf
    Green
    Goligoski
    Tyutin

    Nabokov
    Lundqvist
    12 team, H2H, salary cap
    1 pt/G or A, 2 pts/W, 1 pt/OTL, 1 pt/SO

    Forward: B. Point, M. Necas, A. Debrincat, T. Zegras, J. Bratt, L. Raymond
    Defense: J. Morrissey, A. DeAngelo, S. Gostisbehere, D. Doughty
    Goalie: T. Demko, E. Merzlikins
    Bench: M. Rossi, C. Glass, M. Maccelli, M. Dumba, K. Shattenkirk, F. Andersen
Prospects of Note: L. Stankoven, J. Lekkerimaki, D. Yurov, B. Clarke

League has been running continuously since 1997-98
