    Default World Junior Pool

The World Junior Pool is on again. Third year in a row… becoming a tradition. Last year we had 28 entries, we will see if the numbers continue to grow.

Download the spreadsheet here and fill it out. Points only for skaters and goalie points are Win=2, SOL=1, Shut-out=2.

    Your team:
    1 Captain
    12 forwards
    6 defencemen
    2 goalies
Maximum of 5 players from any one nation.

I put a new category this year: Team Captain. Basically you get to pick one of six players. I picked who I guess will be the most popular picks in the pool and allowed you to pick only one (they aren’t listed in the forward section). Hopefully that will take out some of the best players in the tournament being a non-factor because everyone picks them. This year the list for Captain is:
    Jordan Eberle,
    Taylor Hall,
    Mikael Granlund,
    Nikita Filatov,
    Magnus Paajarvi-Svensson, or
    Jordan Schroeder.
I am sure there is some debate as to if I picked the best 6 players but hopefully it presents some hard choices.

Email your selection to me at reeveta at gmail dot com. Please include “World Junior pool” in the title so I can see any emails that end up in my junk folder.

If you don’t have MS Excel email me your entry in the text of the email. Please spell the players names as they are spelt in the link below. http://www.iihf.com/channels0910/wm20/statistics.html

Deadline: Before the first game begins.

    Prize: Respect, bragging rights, etc.

Does the 12 F count the captain?

No. I guess there are really 13 forwards. But one of them is the captain.

As long as it is before the puck drops on the first game I think it is fair. Schedule is here:

Dean's on board as well. I hope they televise these games in Florida as I will be on vacation for the week there - not on my Xmas wishlist as I was looking forward to watching the WJC

Crap! Last year's winner. I was hoping you won't find this post.
