If this rumour is in fact true, Holmgren should most definitely trade Carter over Hartnell. I dont care if Carter is only 24 and way more talented. You cant have guys in the locker room that would do something like that to a teammate. Thats pretty low. As an athlete, and a well paid one at that, his options for women are limitless. Im sure women that look like Hartnell's wife are a dime a dozen when you make 5M a year. To go after a teammate's wife you have to be pretty damn selfish. i heard cote may actually be involved. buddy of mine knows him cause he's from around here, told me he and his wife are going through some serious drama, not living together and the whole marriage is up in the air and apparently its cause of the same thing with the carter rumour or whatever. then he showed me his facebook haha and cotes status has this huge rant about him and his wife and how to leave him alone and respect his privacy. and cotes wife is a babe might i add.

touche, you're absolutely right of course that this is all speculation but I'll give you four very good reasons I think this has some legs:
1)where there is smoke, there is fire...sure the details might get mangled and we don't get the full story but usually a small thread of truth leaks thru
2)Philly is a top 3 East team playing like a bottom 3 East team...****ing explain that, there's no way in hell this is a 'fluke', have you guys watched any of these games???? this isn't a team, its a group of players who don't know/like each other on the ice at the same times...something poisonous is happening in that locker room.
3)Hartnell's wife really IS smokin hot, I'd drink her bathwater
4)We've heard nothing out of the coaches/GM, etc on why they've been so piss poor...their silence tells me this is something serious and unrelated to hockey
