    Default Nabokov Trade Value

What type of value would you be looking for if you were moving Nabokov? My goaltending right now is Nabokov, Rinne and Leclaire. I am possibly trading for Rask, which would then make it worthwhile to move Nabokov for a decent return. I'm in the process of rebuilding and my keepers were: Zetterberg, M. Richards, Doan, Stastny, Krejci, Frolik, Giroux and Wideman. I would like to get back an upper-tier forward, a prospect and a decent draft pick for Nabokov. Is that realistic?

It will really depend on what the other team's needs are and who they have to offer. As mentioned in your other thread, you're best bet is to trade for Rask now and then wait until one of the teams that is competing needs a goaltender. That's how you'll get your best return IMO. Nabokov is getting a little long in the tooth, so his trade value really depends on his ability to win a championship over the next year or two.

That is a decent return for Nabby.

To answer your Q, VW82, I think it is totally reasonable for you to ask for that. Nabby is a proven, 40W 6SO goalie on a stacked (regular season-performing) team. I don't think he's that long in the tooth at 34. A lot of goalies (especially consistent ones) do well in their mid 30s. IMO he has a lot of good years still ahead, especially if he sticks in SJS (which he will). If you can get something similar to what Ziggy got, though I wouldn't have parted with Krejci, then I'd consider it a pretty decent return:

    A star F (Semin)
    A star prospect (Oshie)
A future option in G (Gustavsson).

    Not bad....
