Dobber Pirate League Season 2

Ahoy Dobber Pirates....ya that is as far as my pirate language goes. it is time to test our skills and prove our manhood as pirates, who enjoy two types of booty.

All first year members are invited again, please apply if you plan on being active. we will be doing an offline draft, probably on this site, or if shoeless is still in the league and he opens the yahoo group we can do it there.

New members, anyone can join but they will have to be approved first. I am thinking of having a 12 team league, so for the remaining spots left (we will have a few available for sure), we are looking for DEDICATED managers. not ones who will leave halfway. activeness and participation is much more valued than knowledge, after all this league is about having fun. last year, my team was pretty crap but i still tried to talk shit when facing off against the better teams (obviously i still lost) lol.

Rule changes, scoring cats, positions etc can all be discussed here. i want to promote trading, so if you guys know the cats/positions/etc that will boost trades i'm all for it. i look forward to seeing the old gang mixed with some new. the more active you are on dobber, the higher chance you have of making the squad! Also the more often you post on this thread with suggestions, and piratey stuff also bolster your odds! This is a pretty fun league so we are looking for enthusiastic individuals!

i think it will be H2H so it will be fun trash talking your opponent etc. but its all up for grabs if someone convinces me roto is better then by all means we can change it

Ah! Good ol' H2H. No arguments here.
If I am selected, I will let any team score the first goal. Incremental bribes of $1 per goal may be negotiated and any blame for tampering will be directed to my significant other.

Things we be needing this year of the sea:

Goalie Cats reduced to: Starts, Wins, SO, SV%, GAA, Loss,

Player Cats reduced to: G, A, + -, PPP, SHP, PIMS, Shots

This be maintaining the Goalie heavy stats we enjoyed last we year, without the yabbering redundancy of some of the cats!

We must also be adjusting our rosters to 24 players: 4 C, 4LW, 4RW, 5D, 2 G, 2 IR

There you will see many exchanges occur.

My... I see why there weren't many trades last year.

Ever give a thought to cut down some of the positions and use Utilities? Might bring up the value of centers. Just throwing an idea out: 3C, 3RW, 3LW, 3 UTIL.

Any movement limits or do GM's stream players in-and-out like them dirty landlubbers?

i say we trim down the starters to like 2 @ each forward position + 4D + 2util + 2G

as long as there is trading i dont care what the roster is. last year was brutal to be honest, there were barely trades.

i wasnt a fan of the structure to be honest last year...this year im afraid i wont be able to commit regardless of the structure though. hopefully someone else can take my spot and do something positive...7th place by a couple pts is just a kick in the groin. im not used to missing the playoffs.

Put me down on the waiting list. I'm already comitted to 5 leagues for sure and maybe 2 others. I want to keep it at 7 or 8, so once you get the rules hammered out I'll see where I'm at and if I like the format I'm in.

As far as trades/moves/league activity go no worries there, I'll be one of the top guys in that.
