Comish Dynasty Playoff/Draft Update

Is it just me or wasnt there a discussion at the beginning of the year that for the first season we were just going to reverse the order that we started with this year? The first overall in the innaugural season would then have the last pick in the second season, then in year 2 we would go by the intent of the rules. That way you would actually have a teir 1, 2 and 3 winner, 2 new teams, and no contraversy with guys actually trying to throw the season? Give the top 2 finalists the first and second overall then go with last years order.

Well, despite I like Russ intentions on being as closer to the rules as we can, I also don\'t like to give a better pick to team 11 and team 21. For the same reason as the others mentioned, I don\'t have any issues with this for next year, but this year it\'s more luck than a little help to work your way in your new tier.

As for giving pick 3-4 to team 30 and team 29, while I have to agree with you UW and also see your pain for moving up to number 27, I really think we should do this as like Russ said, we would have done it anyway if they were two new teams.

1st - Playoff winner
2nd - Playoff finalist
3rd - 30th team
4th - 29th team
5th - Regular season winner
6th to 30th - Worst to best

One last thing for you Russ (I\'ve already sent you an email and it\'s not related to the draft), is there a reason why the rules regarding the IR players is different in the last email you sent than what\'s in the \"Rules\" documents you sent on Friday? You said that we have to bring back our IR players at the end of the regular season where in the rules it says end of the playoffs. I know I can only speak for me, but this make a real difference as I can leave Zubov, Kariya and even Miller on IR if they aren\'t going to be useful in the playoffs.

I\'m glad to see you like it UW! Again, like I said, I hate the fact that you\'ll lose a bit by climbing to the 27th spot, but you won\'t lose this much with this proposition and you\'ll still be able to be proud of yourself by leaving the last spot!

I like Chics way as well, it appears this would make finishing 2nd in the regular season the worst possible spot, with the 28th team only really dropping 1 spot

I have extra motive wanting to hang onto that first spot in the regular season as i have traded away my 2nd round pick, sorry Maple but i really hope it is a late 2nd!

It still would be great to hear a few more thoughts on this idea and perhaps others, maybe the best is still out there but i woudl ahve to think that Chics is the best for all involved currently

and like it a snake the guy who finish 2nd will have to consecutive pick not bad

have do some math so if we want to stick to the original rule. maybe after puting all people in the good tier just recalculate the point from each tier you will be surprise that the ranking will not be the same in each tier like the final ranking give us....

so you took my standings then compared them against each other in the tier they fall in?
you are still having the 11th and 21st guys (the leaders of tiers 2,3) be the leaders in this format, who would then get the perceived advantage over the others in those Tiers

yes i took all your stat (thank\'s ) i don\'t know for 11th and 21th but since they won\'t there tier maybe there right to pick... prefer worst to best in each tier but i know that winning my tier is suppose to grant me for that...

like i have mentioned the biggest flaw of the 11th and 21st guys getting the winning Tier picks is that this year those guys don\'t move up, they stay in the tier they are in, therefore getting an advantage over the rest of the tier, net year when those guys move up a tier sure it is a great bonus and maybe even needed as you are against a so called better tier
