Forgive the ignorance all, but how are the playoffs working?

The quick rundown as i see it is as follows
top 16, H2H points only 1(G/A)and 2(W/SHO)
from your team you pick the following in each round
Round 1 - 11 F or D and 1 G
Round 2 - 9 F/D and 1 G
Round 3 - 7 F/D and 1 G
Round 4 5 F/D and 1 G
That is the basic\'s behind it, i have propsed an alternative seeding method but that won\'t change what is above.

sorry dont even know when the playoffs start? is it like most yahoo leagues as in monday? because im going away this weekend so will be good to know as somehow i am still sitting in 14th place so if i dont fall too much this week.

yes the max games can coem back and bite you, i didn\'t expect that to come into play for many guys in this league, just finding guys to make up games seems to be hard!
I didn't make the playoffs last year and just curious how the playoffs work. Do we use the league standings (all 30 teams) like last year or something else using all 3 tiers? Apologize for the ignorance.
We get one of these - Don't waste it.

Smack, et al - We will use the Tiers (top 6-5-4 as above), but after Chinny takes out any dummy team points.
If anyone needs a copy of the rules, please either send me an email or let me know here and I'll send them to you. They were sent out before the season started (way back in time!).

I believe the Comish posted that 15 teams will be involved in the play-offs.
I think it wasn't the top 15 but the following:
The top 6 teams from Tier 1
The top 5 teams from Tier 2
The top 4 teams from Tier 3

No problem Rad! There should be some advantage to being in a higher Tier, hence more teams in the top Tier making the playoffs. The main reason I like a points system for the playoffs is that it is much easier to figure out how you do each and every night - how many points you are back of the next guy. Roto is up and down every day, which I like for the regular season, but not so much in a shorter elimination playoff pool.
